For anyone wondering what the problem was it's the Comment Tags <!-- around the script - remove them, they are obsolete now.

I've now just linked to the working/seperate page in an iframe, problem solved

Hi there,

Can anyone think why my jQuery panoramic plugin (http://test.cafemamboibiza.com/en/ibiza#ui-tabs-4) will only let me scroll once and not click to scroll again inside my site even though when i have it standalone (http://test.cafemamboibiza.com/pan.html) it works as expected.

It seems to let me scroll around once perfectly but once that click has been released thats it, you can't reclick. It must be another jquery script messing this up but I'm unsure how to debug that to find out, can't see anything in console log.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi guys,

Can anyone help me figure out a bug in ie9 i'm having?

I'm on a mac and using parallels to run ie9 and its a pain in the neck as I can't get firebug lite working to help debug with this.

Anyway http://test.cafemamboibiza.com/en on the right hand side beside the paris hilton video theres a 360 tour that works fine in chrome, firefox etc but not i.e. 9 and i've installed some developer bar and its telling me theres a bug in the jquery file but i've changed to a different CDN and even redownloaded the jquery file to try locally and still no joy.

Any help/pointers at all thanks!!

Kevin

Hi guys,

I've got a bug I can't figure out on my navigation and I was wondering if anyone can help: [url]http://mambo.3thirteen.co.uk/en/contact[/url]

As you'll see on that page the navigation bar at the top has a little color changing effect. It works great until you hit refresh on the page - and then the "selected" navigation seems to lose its place by forgetting a margin or something but I can't figure out where.

The navigation bar uses a bit of jQuery but that seems to work fine, until refresh so I'm sure it's a CSS bug.

Anyone got any pointers?

The Jquery code form it is:
[CODE]
var $el, leftPos, newWidth;
$mainNav2 = $("#example-two");

        $mainNav2.append("<li id='magic-line-two'></li>");

        var $magicLineTwo = $("#magic-line-two");

        $magicLineTwo
            .width($(".current_page_item_two").width())
            .height($mainNav2.height())
            .css("left", $(".current_page_item_two a").position().left)
            .data("origLeft", $(".current_page_item_two a").position().left)
            .data("origWidth", $magicLineTwo.width())
            .data("origColor", $(".current_page_item_two a").attr("rel"));

        $("#example-two a").hover(function() {
            $el = $(this);
            leftPos = $el.position().left;
            newWidth = $el.parent().width();
            $magicLineTwo.stop().animate({
                left: leftPos,
                width: newWidth,
                backgroundColor: $el.attr("rel")
            })
        }, function() {
            $magicLineTwo.stop().animate({
                left: $magicLineTwo.data("origLeft"),
                width: $magicLineTwo.data("origWidth"),
                backgroundColor: $magicLineTwo.data("origColor")
            });
        });

        /* Kick IE into gear */
        $(".current_page_item_two a").mouseenter();

[/CODE]

And the CSS is:

[CODE]

.nav-wrap {
margin: 50px auto;
background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.6);
border-top: 2px solid white;
border-bottom: 2px solid white;
}

/ Clearfix /
.group:after { visibility: hidden; display: block; content: ""; clear: both; height: 0; }
:first-child+html .group { zoom: 1; } / IE7 */

magic-line {

position: absolute;
bottom: -2px;
left: 0;
width: 100px;
height: 2px;
background: #fe4902;

}
.current_page_item a {
color: white !important;
}
.ie6 #example-one li, .ie7 #example-one li { ...

Mate... you just saved me about 5,000 strands of hair!!!!!!! Thank you ever so much!!!!!

Thanks for replying but sorry I don't understand where I forgot to put them?

Can anyone help me with jquery ui selectable please?

My html is:
[CODE]
<input style="" id="input_4" name="input_4" value="" />
<ol id="selectable">
<li class="ui-widget-content">Reservations </li>
<li class="ui-widget-content">Information and Enquiries</li>
<li class="ui-widget-content">Mambo Tours & Events</li>
<li class="ui-widget-content">Press, Marketing & PR</li>
<li class="ui-widget-content">Business Development & Franchise</li>
<li class="ui-widget-content">Mambo TV & Livestreaming</li>
<li class="ui-widget-content">Mambo Studio</li>
<li class="ui-widget-content">VIP Services</li>
<li class="ui-widget-content">Merchandise</li>
<li class="ui-widget-content">Wedding Planning</li>
<li class="ui-widget-content">Club Tickets</li>
</ol>
[/CODE]

and my jquery is:

[CODE]
$(function() {
$("#selectable").selectable(selected: function(event, ui) {
var text = $(this).text();
$("#input_4").val(text);
});

});
[/CODE]

I want whatever is selected to update the input text field which I want to hide and store the value in.

Anyone please? It's driving me insane with the lack of documentation on jquery ui selectable.

Cheers,

Kevin

i know theres millions. thats why i'm asking which is best ;)

Will check them out, thanks. High hopes but I hope one of them have ease of use like dropbox or google's picasa.

Yeh I am a programmer and know it can be done but browsers wouldn't be able to handle the 150 images a time uploads the managers would need to do. thanks for your input though, i need all the input I can get to make the best decision

ahh no, i need them to be able to save stuff to it as well as access it to download it.

Would love to but the managers of the seperate locations can barely use facebook never mind trying to FTP stuff.

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone can point me to the best file/cloud solution/service out there at the minute?

We are a medium sized company spread out in to 15 - 20 locations and are looking to share press images/photos and maybe even some documents or video in a central server, ideally with 2 levels of user, super admin who can see and edit everything and admins who can upload new pictures for their own individual facility.

Dropbox would be ok - but it seems expensive if we were to add the individual users needed for each shared folder.

Flickr seems good but doesn't look like it can support anything other than photos, which isn't a major problem just now but in the future I'm not sure.

Google Apps sounds like it might work...

Anyone got any thoughts or experiences? I'd prefer to work with an established company that won't be going anywhere in the next few years as I don't want to spend another week moving to another service after I have it setup, ideally. Money is not an issue but would rather be smart with it. If we have to go with dropbox then so be it.

Thanks guys & girls,

Kev

ok its resolved now. I got rid of adapt.js and went for respond.js. And it works fine. I guess what I was trying to do was too advanced for adapt.js. Thanks anyway guys.

I am making a responsive site. Please resize your screen to 980px-ish to see the problem as I've not configured the other screen resolutions sizes.

My page works as i expected in chrome and firefox in [url]http://mambo.3thirteen.co.uk/en[/url]

but then when i move the css form the main <style> tag on the page to inside a .css file thats loaded by adapt.js it works fine in chrome but not in firefox: [url]http://mambo2.3thirteen.co.uk/en[/url]

Can anyone think why? It's driving me insane.

Thanks in advance,

Kev

Ok I managed to solve it.

Here's the working code to have adapt.js include 2 css files instead of just 1:

[CODE]
<script>
function myCallback(i, width) {
// Replace HTML tag's ID.
document.documentElement.id = 'range_' + i;

  <?php if (isset($page_css)){ ?>

    if(i == 0) {
        $('head').append('<link rel="stylesheet" href="/css/<?= $page_css ?>/mobile.css" type="text/css" />');
    }
    else if(i == 1) {
        $('head').append('<link rel="stylesheet" href="/css/<?= $page_css ?>/720.css" type="text/css" />');
    }
    else if(i == 2) {
        $('head').append('<link rel="stylesheet" href="/css/<?= $page_css ?>/960.css" type="text/css" />');
    }
    else if(i == 3) {
        $('head').append('<link rel="stylesheet" href="/css/<?= $page_css ?>/1200.css" type="text/css" />');
    }
    else if(i == 4) {
        $('head').append('<link rel="stylesheet" href="/css/<?= $page_css ?>/1560.css" type="text/css" />');
    }
    else if(i == 5) {
        $('head').append('<link rel="stylesheet" href="/css/<?= $page_css ?>/1920.css" type="text/css" />');
    }
    else if(i == 6) {
        $('head').append('<link rel="stylesheet" href="/css/<?= $page_css ?>/2520.css" type="text/css" />');
    }
    else {

    }

  <?php  }  ?>

  // Note: Not making use of width here, but I'm sure
  // you could think of an interesting way to use it.
}

// Edit to suit your needs.
var ADAPT_CONFIG = {
  // Where is your CSS?
  path: '/css/',

  // false = Only run once, when page first loads.
  // true = Change on window resize and page tilt.
  dynamic: true,

  callback: myCallback,

  // First range entry is the minimum.
  // Last range entry is the maximum.
  // Separate ranges by "to" keyword.
  range: [
    '0px    to 760px  = mobile.css',    // 0
    '760px  to 980px  = 720.css',   // 1
    '980px  to 1280px = 960.css',   // 2
    '1280px to 1600px = 1200.css',  // ...

Can anyone help me with "adapt.js" ([url]http://adapt.960.gs/[/url]) to set it up to include 2 css files instead of just 1.

For example I need it to figure out I want to include /css/960.css, then i also want it to include /css/<= $pagename ?>/960.css

Here is my current code (not included the standard adapt.js):

[CODE]
<script>
function myCallback(i, width) {
// Replace HTML tag's ID.
document.documentElement.id = 'range_' + i;

  // Note: Not making use of width here, but I'm sure
  // you could think of an interesting way to use it.
}

// Edit to suit your needs.
var ADAPT_CONFIG = {
  // Where is your CSS?
  <?php if (isset($page_css)){ ?>
    path: '/css/<?= $page_css ?>/',
  <?php  } else { ?>
    path: '/css/',
  <?php  }  ?>

  // false = Only run once, when page first loads.
  // true = Change on window resize and page tilt.
  dynamic: true,

  callback: myCallback,

  // First range entry is the minimum.
  // Last range entry is the maximum.
  // Separate ranges by "to" keyword.
  range: [
    '0px    to 760px  = mobile.css',
    '760px  to 980px  = 720.css',
    '980px  to 1280px = 960.css',
    '1280px to 1600px = 1200.css',
    '1600px to 1940px = 1560.css',
    '1940px to 2540px = 1920.css',
    '2540px           = 2520.css'
  ]
};
</script>

[/CODE]

That is exactly what i was looking for, thanks man. I ended up changing them from a list to divs to get what i wanted but can revert back now that you've suggested this. Cheers.

Hi guys,

[url]http://mambo.3thirteen.co.uk/en[/url]

On the top bit with the videos and 3 video previews i can't get the 3 video previews to display on one line.

It's driving me mad, I'm sure its only 1 little line of CSS but can't figure it out.

display:inline; is not working as expected for me.

Cheers,

Kevin

22 if (strlen($_POST['searchdate']) > 0)) {
change to:
22 if (strlen($_POST['searchdate']) > 0) {

i can see at least one syntax error. please post code wrapped inside the code tags [code][/code] so we can talk about line numbers etc

you should go on php.net and lookup error reporting and turn all errors on and make them print to browser whilst you are doing development work and it will tell you what line of the code is breaking it

$thisdate = $_SESSION['thisdate']}; is wrong straight away, why do you have a } in there?

change line 8 from
$thisdate = $_SESSION['thisdate']
to
$thisdate = $_SESSION['thisdate'];

if you put my code at the top of your pages it will look for a new date being submitted on a form from previous page and if its not been changed it will pull the one from the session so everywhere in your current code everytime you want to look at the date just use $thisdate and remove all things that change it like $thisdate = $_POST['thisdate'];

there is [B]really[/B] much better ways of doing this but this is a little starting point and will help you progress

and like this: $thisdate = if(!empty($_SESSION['thisdate']); doesn't look right
try:

[CODE]

check to see if a new searchdate has been posted

if (strlen($_POST['searchdate']) > 0)) {

if its been psoted then use the new date and update the session

$thisdate = $_POST['searchdate'];
$_SESSION['thisdate'] = $thisdate;

} else {

if no new date has been submitted then use the one in the session

$thisdate = $_SESSION['thisdate']

}
[/CODE]

If it's not being used on the page immediately displayed when you "submit" the form then it would have to be yes. Don't forgot you will need to tell your scripts that everytime the form is submitted it should update the session values.

yes you need to save the data if you want to display it on a further page

you will have to add to baa_history3.php something that saves the searched date to the session so you can then pull it back later in the $_SESSION and not $_POST.

$_POST will only work in the immediate page you have posted to

IE can't do something firefox and chrome and safari and opera can do??? shocking ;)

not used gd library for a few years but I'd suggest changing your code and try saving as a png instead to debug/see if you get the same problems. even if png isn't something you want to use it might help you narrow down the problem.
