I would just like to add 71 views so faron this thread, thats about 96SQL queries.

One point and one point only I am goingt o make.

I don't like ASP but I would not stop a thread on one of my boards if someone was talking about it, so just because someone here does not like game threads it was topped and I was told I was basicly wasting valuble time and disk space.

I did send the person in question a private message and had no reply that is why I posted in the geeks lounge just air my views not to get into a debate about it, after my first post this thread should of been LOCKED as it is a waste of time and disk space :-)

Hay Christian,
Take a look at my posts mate I'm not here idle chit chat in the geeks lounge I have helped out a few people on this board but every time I pop in and there is no new posts for support in my knowledge area I pop into the geeks lounge to make a post I think it rood to visit and not contribute.

You are doing somthing right though coz I wouldn't of come back after the first few posts if I hadn't of get the replies and I did.

I am a moderator on 3 boards in total and I would never tell any of my members that they are wasting time posting messages or even block a thread with out a good reason, at the end of the day you have people using the board even a 8 page thread can only take up a few hundered K ot even that I bet. And you should be greatful that people are using your board othervise who else is going to click onto those advertisments and make you money.

Kev
probably no use in asking this, but where did you post it? and it is true that we already have a word association game going on. If you were offended that alc said it was a waste of time, thats just his personal opinion, im sure if it becomes a problem Dani will let us know. You dont have to leave. :(
[url="

alc6379 posted
We've already got a word association game going on, feel free to participate in it here in the Geek's Lounge.

My personal opinion is that these posts are a waste of space, but others seem to like them. However, we should keep these things to a minimum.
Then the thread was blocked from further posts.
That is fine with me that the Mods on Dani Web do ot want us to post on their board as we are wasting there disc space.

So I have unsubscribed from all threads I was involved in and asked them to cancel my account.

See you all on another board, Good luck Dani Web you'll need it.

Regards

Kevin Smithers

That will be the one, I'm in the middle or redesigning a website for a snooker hall in the UK but they are on a very tight budget so I have had to come up with some sneaky ways to get them to the top of search engines in the UK for nothing, and this was one of them.

Check it out, do a yahoo search for Snooker in Swindon and bang we are at the top and look at the extra features added to the results RSS: [url="

Here is a little cheat I use, code yourself a RSS feed for your website, add it to your yahoo account in the news section and it will automaticly be added to there feed directory and hay presto up your listing with their search engine at the same time :-)

The feed does not have to be complex like a feed from a blog just make the feed links to differant sections of your site :-)

Topeka, KS - High school sophomore Brett Tyson was suspended today after teachers learned he may be using PHP.

"A teacher overheard him say that he was using PHP, and as part of our Zero-Tolerance policy against drug use, he was immediately suspended. No questions asked," said Principal Clyde Thurlow. "We're not quite sure what PHP is, but we suspect it may be a derivative of PCP, or maybe a new designer drug like GHB."
Parents are frightened by the discovery of this new menace in their children's school, and are demanding the school do something. "We heard that he found out about PHP at school on the internet. There may even be a PHP web ring operating on school grounds," said irate parent Carol Blessing. "School is supposed to be teaching our kids how to read and write. Not about dangerous drugs like PHP."

In response to parental demands the school has reconfigured its internet WatchDog software to block access to all internet sites mentioning PHP. Officials say this should prevent any other students from falling prey like Brett Tyson did. They have also stepped up locker searches and brought in drug sniffing dogs.

Interviews with students suggested that PHP use is wide spread around the school, but is particularly concentrated in the geeky nerd population. When contacted by BBspot.com, Brett Tyson said, "I don't know what the hell is going on dude, but this suspension gives me more time for fraggin'. ...

Not quite what I was thinking about but.......

Ok I'm going to post a word, and what ever that word finishes with the next person to post must post a word starting with the last letter of the previous post EASY so if I post MAILTO the flow would go like this OBJECT, TAG.......... So I'm going to start with HTTP

Hi Nico,
How do you want your audio to play? do you want it just as a background music or do you want a MP3 player on the page that plays a playlist like on this site [url="
whoa, how did you make the browser window shake?
The line pf code in your flash movie is getURL("javascript:shake_x(5)")
place this when you want the browser to shake.

basicly this activates Javascript in the HTML page, have a look at the javascript at the top of the HTML page without this it wont work.

But remember after a while the shaking of the ebrowser gets annoying so don't do as I originally did!!!! I had a button at the top of a flash site that said MENU when you clicked it the navigation would animate onto the screen then shake the browser (With a thunder sound), when you clicked a link on the navigation it animated out of shot.

But havin g to watch the browser shake and hear that sound everytime I wanted to change page was giving me a headache I would suggest using this code in a flash intro or something that would be appropriate.

Example .FLA .SWF & .HTM ATTACHED
