You uploaded an incorrect file. (Looks like you uploaded the shortcut). Please upload it in a format we can access, like notepad.

What 'free' driver scan are you doing? Chances are that it is giving you false information.
The manufacturer by the way, will not be Microsoft.
What is your motherboard make and exact model?
If you do not know, there are a few ways you can get it.
Take a look at it physically, or download a software program that will read the info, then display it for you.
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
Depending on the age of the motherboard, Everest free may be able to tell you;
http://majorgeeks.com/download4181.html
Once you have the information, post it back here.

crunchie 990

Me too :)

crunchie 990

Excellent :).

To remove all of the tools we used and the files and folders they created, please do the following:
Please download OTC by OldTimer:
Save it to your Desktop.
Double click OTC.exe.
Click the CleanUp! button.
If you are prompted to Reboot during the cleanup, select Yes. The tool will delete itself once it finishes.

crunchie 990

Firefox may just need re-installing to correct the problem.
Not sure why you cannot see your files though. Will see what I can find out.

crunchie 990

Keep an eye on it for a couple of days and let me know if it is still ok.

crunchie 990

If you go to the folder that holds the photo's, right click on it and go to properties, make sure it is not set as a hidden folder.

Download LSPfix from here
On the opening screen, click the "I know what I'm doing" checkbox, then click Finish.

See if the connection is ok now.
1A – Please Uninstall or Disable any P2P (peer-to-peer) programs on the infected computer before posting in this forum. Rather than write a long piece on the dangers of P2P, I’m just going to say this:
P2P software circumvents common-sense security measures and opens a user’s computer to a world of hurt.
Our regular volunteers' time is valuable and most are not willing to waste it on a machine that is almost certain to be reinfected in short order.
So, please remove or disable all P2P software for the duration of the cleaning process. Failure to do so may result in your thread being ignored.
One of the biggest malware magnets there are on a PC.

I have had a bit of a Google and it looks like you are not alone. Only way I can see this working is if you use a monitor with the same resolution as the laptops.
I may be wrong though, so hopefully somebody here will chime in :).
You can also try here http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDSupportHub.aspx and download the utility that will automatically detect what you need. Fingers crossed :).

crunchie 990

The monitor may be the problem here. Do you know the correct (default) resolution for that monitor? If so, you need to set it up correctly. What monitor is it?
Depending on if you have nVidia or ATI/AMD cards, you can download the driver/software to suit. You need to know what is driving your graphics though and if you have a discrete card.

crunchie 990

You can try doing it through the graphics cards' software.
Is this on the same pc/monitor?

crunchie 990

May not boot.
ethernet no load for my computer
Hi. Try starting your own thread :).

crunchie 990

Not many laptops have a discrete graphics card. I would say, based on the info given, that there is a problem between the screen and the board.

crunchie 990

Go Wallabies :)

crunchie 990

You can use another XP CD provided it is for whatever one you had. ie: XP home or XP professional.

crunchie 990

Yes, the OS CD. What other CD are you talking about?
