I e-mailed ccompaq and they told me to take out the battery and unplug the battery cord and then hold the power button down for 45 seconds. I did this and it still doesn't work. What else can I do?

I am having a similar problem, however when i do click the start button on my compaq presario, the compaq logo, COMPAQ, appears on the screne, the fan starts and what seems to be the processor, and then it goes dead, switches off Help!!
