Hi, all! This seemed like the best place to pose my question, as there doesn't seem to be any forum specifically targeting ICS files... I have a web server, where I have a script that generates ICS files. I can successfully import the ICS files into Google Calendar (browser-based) and Mozilla Lightning (so far), and view events. However, I can't seem to edit them in either place. Mozilla loads the ICS file in "read only" mode, and Google lists the calendar as an "other calendar", which I can't write to. I have the permissions for the ICS file set to …

Hey, all I've got this script that runs a simple 'select' query: function set_selectAssoc($usernumber) { $this->execute = $this->connection->query("SELECT * FROM `link-UsersToGroups` WHERE userID = ".$usernumber); $this->num_rows = $this->execute->num_rows; $this->results = $this->execute->fetch_assoc(); if ($this->num_rows == 0) { $this->response_code = 2; $this->response_msg .= "You don't currently seem to belong to any groups yet. Would you like to create one?"; } else { $this->response_code = 0; echo "Number of rows found: ".$this->num_rows."<BR>"; do { echo $this->row["groupID"]."<BR>"; } while ($this->row = $this->results); } } the first echo statement (`echo "Number of rows found: ".$this->num_rows."<BR>";`) returns correctly (two rows found), but, when it comes to …

Hi, all I'm working on a website that is comprised of two iframes within several nested divs ( the frames named "frame-menu" and "frame-main"). Displaying as such: <div id="wrapper"> <div id="header">Header text/image goes here</div> <div id="menu"><iframe name="frame-menu" id="frame-menu" src="menu.php" frameborder="0" height="30"></iframe></div> <div id="main"><iframe name="frame-main" id="frame-main" src="login.php" frameborder="0" width="878" height="700"></iframe></div> <div id="footer"><A HREF="about.php" TARGET="frame-main">About Us</A> - Contact</div> <div id="bottom">&copy;2015</div> </div> When the user logs on via the 'login.php' form, I'd like to reload the 'menu.php' file in the 'frame-menu' frame, to run the PHP conditionals to change the "log in" link to a "log out" link. However, I can't figure out …

Hi, all I have a web page that breaks down to several divs, two of them containing iframes (one for content, one for a menu): <HEAD> <script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.1.3/jquery.min.js"></script> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="styles/default.css?ver=33"> </HEAD> <BODY> <div id="wrapper"> <div id="header">Welcome to my website</div> <div id="menu"><iframe name="frame-menu" id="frame-menu" src="menu.php" frameborder="0" height="30"></iframe></div> <div id="main"><iframe name="frame-main" id="frame-main" src="login.php" frameborder="0" width="878" height="700"></iframe></div> <div id="footer"><A HREF="about.php" TARGET="frame-main">About Us</A> - Contact</div> <div id="bottom">&copy;2015</div> </div> </BODY> After the user logs in via the form on the 'login.php' page, it runs through a PHP script that registers their login, and takes them to an account summary page (dashboard.php). I'm looking …

Hi all I'm trying to set my mysqli connection to my database as outlined in http://php.net/manual/en/mysqli.quickstart.connections.php , with one difference - I'm trying to put my connection parameters in an include file outside of my root folder, to try to secure my DB password. $mysqli = new mysqli("DBServer", "DBUsername", "DBPassword", "DBName"); //set connection params if ($mysqli->connect_errno) { echo "Failed to connect to MySQL: " . $mysqli->connect_error; exit(); Now, with my query object, I can confirm that the connection is established, and the connection file is included when I launch my class_lib file, but, when I try to use the connection …

Hi all, I've been working with PHP, using procedural methods, for several years now, and have begun to explore the object-oriented side of it. While it didn't take me long to understand the potential advantages that come with working in this manner, I'm still having some trouble wrapping my head around doing the things I used to do procedurally in an object-oriented manner. A lot of the tutorials cover the basic applications of classes, properties, and methods, but I'm having trouble applying them to projects I'm working on. For instance, I have a form, that I put a class together …

Hi, all I'm working with an aspx file that's supposed to check on a directory (on the same server the file lives on) to see if a file of a particular name exists. Based on its response, it's either supposed to create a link to that file, or, well, do nothing. The code I'm working from is below: Try wc_result = web_client.DownloadData(\\server\dir\subdir\filename.pdf) Catch ex As Exception If Left(ex.Message, 6) = "THIS FILE EXISTS" Then link = "<a target='_blank' href='\\server\dir\subdir\filename.pdf'>Here is the file</a>" End If End Try Response.write(link) If I insert a line to echo back the ex.Message, it tells me …

I'm working on implementing CSS on my site, and have a problem with using a background image. When I use the background image inline in the PHP file, as below: <style> html{ background: url(images/bgimage.jpg) no-repeat center center fixed; -webkit-background-size: cover; -moz-background-size: cover; -o-background-size: cover; background-size: cover; } body{ font-family:"Trebuchet MS", Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:16px; color:#ffffff; } </style> The background image displays properly. However, when I use a separate CSS file, containing: html { background: url(images/ralnabg.jpg) no-repeat center center fixed; -webkit-background-size: cover; -moz-background-size: cover; -o-background-size: cover; background-size: cover; } body{ background-color:#0000ff; font-family:"Trebuchet MS", Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:16px; color:#ffffff; } The PHP page ignores …

Hi, all I've been banging my head on this one for about a day, now, so I figure it might be time to consult experts. I've got a form, here, that has 3 fields (First, Last Name, and E-Mail address). It's supposed to auto-generate a username and password, insert into a table, and e-mail the address supplied on the form. The script works, in that the user gets one e-mail without a problem, but the record insert duplicates itself, so three records of the same data are inserted, and I can't figure out where the loop is (or where PHP …

Hello! I've got a question here that has me scratching my head - I've got a table of IP addresses. Each octet has its own field (OCT1,OCT2,OCT3,OCT4). The first two octets are fixed, and will never change (so, the IP addresses on my table are between X.Y.0.0 and X.Y.255.255). As such, I've got a range form where the user can type in the third and fourth octets of the low and high IP search range. The problem is, is I can't figure out the proper format of the SELECT statement. I've tried a bunch of ideas and looked up several …

Hello, (What I hope will be a) quick question regarding SSL and HTTPS- from my understanding, if you want someone to use SSL for a connection, you simply make sure that the URL has "https" instead of "http" in front of your URL, correct? I have a valid SSL cert that I use to create customer accounts and secure payments. However, I have discovered, to maintain and ensure my customer's security, I should use SSL at any and all pages where a customer might submit any secure information (including login pages). So, I figured I could just put "https" at …

I've been trying to make this work, but I keep getting the "Run-time error '9': Subscript out of range" error.
'Declare your Dims: Dim InputString As String Dim NewArray As Variant Dim NewArrayKey0 As String 'Give the InputString variable a value: InputString = "input string" 'Split the InputString …

Hello! I am working with an Access Database (Access 2002) that contains a form that is supposed to import a CSV. However, because some of the integers contained in the CSV are too large for Access to handle (regardless of the number format I select for the field), I'm going to need to do some data transformations on the CSV before I can import it into Access. An example of a row from this CSV would be: [ICODE]| Client IP | Requests | Views | Time | Total Bytes | Bytes Received | Bytes Sent | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | 192.168.192.168 | …

Hello! I have a text field where a user can enter either a(n):

American zip code (example: "02475")
Canadian zip code (example: "A3F 4G6")
A "city/state abbreviation" combination (example: "Toronto, ON", or "Las Vegas, NV")
For the most part, users don't have much of a problem with the first two criteria, but some people have some trouble with the third, either by entering simply a state ("NB", or "Texas"), a city, or spelling out the state name "Chicago, Illinois". I need to put together some validation that makes sure that:

If the entered text is not an …

Good morning/afternoon/evening! I'm trying to run a MySQL query, but it seems to be ignoring the "ORDER BY" clause, most likely, I'm believing, because I'm using the "IN" keyword in my query (several times, as a matter of fact, along with a "LIKE"). Is there a way I can structure my query, so that it will use the "ORDER BY" clause? I've included an example of the query below:
SELECT * FROM Ships, Accounts WHERE Available_Loads.Action != 'D' AND Ships.Username = Accounts.Username AND Ships.Username != 'demo' AND Ships.Status != 'inactive' AND Ships.PU_Date >= CURRENT_DATE() AND Ships.Shipment_Type LIKE '%' AND …

Hello! I was wondering if I could get some assistance with something that is probably easy for even an amateur javascript coder, but, I just can't seem to get after trying every iteration of code I can imagine. The deal is, is that I'm trying to put together a PHP search form, with checkboxes for countries (USA, CAN, MEX), and a set of checkboxes for each state in each country, including an "ALL STATES" checkbox for each country. I'm trying to input form controls where, if someone checks the "ALL STATES" box for any country, it will automatically uncheck any …

Hi! I'm looking to update a field in a table via PHP, basically asking it to change a fields contents to 'foo' if it currently contains the word 'bar', or to change its contents to 'key' if it currently contains the word 'board'. I can't seem to get the syntax right, though. Can someone assist me with correcting my syntax? My query is below:
mysql_select_db($database_TheBoard, $TheBoard); $correct_columnname = "UPDATE tablename SET columnname='foo' WHERE columnname ='bar' AND columnname='key' WHERE columnname ='board'"; $Result_correct_columnname = mysql_query($correct_columnname, $TheBoard) or die("Unable to correct columnname: ".mysql_error());
Thanks!

Hello! I'm having some problems with using data in an PHP form I'm working on that utilizes AJAX. Could be a beginner's mistake, but, then again, it might not be... :) SCENARIO: I have a form with two sets of fields, origin country, city, state, and zip, and destination country, city, state, and zip. In each set, the country drop-down is only visible (options are USA, Canada, and Mexico) until the user selects a country, after which they see a text field for city, another drop-down with a listing for all the states in the country they've selected, and a …
