Hello guys, Here's a problem that's giving me a hard time. I am working on a web server in Java and right now I want to enable the user to create a photo album. The user can type the album name in an <input> field in an HTML form. The problem is that I receive the client request to create a new album with the album name being encoded in some way, which I can't figure out. Here's what I have so far: 1. A simple .html file that contains the form (it's quite large, so I won't post it …

Hi all, I searched this topic and found a couple of posts but I couldn't find what I am looking for. Here's the problem - I am trying to send an image to a client (browser in this case) over a socket. After the image is received I am trying to display it in the browser but it looks corrupted, as if some of the data is missing. The weird thing is that I am able to send some images and display them without any problems. I probably should mention that I am resizing the images, but that's done in …

Hi all, I am writing a server in Java and I have an issue which I've been working on for days now and I can't seem to find a solution. I want to upload files to the server using an HTML form. I can read the whole POST request and the data that it contains but when I try to create the file in my server space, it seems corrupted. Here is the upload request:
POST /uploadprofilepicture HTTP/1.1 Host: www.gravyty.com User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.8 Accept-Language: en-us,en;q=0.5 Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7 Keep-Alive: 115 Connection: …

Hi all, Here's the problem I have. I am designing a website in HTML and I want to include a chat system using a Java applet. I have written a small example applet that just connects to my server and gets the users that are currently online. The applet works when I run it in Eclipse but I tried to launch it from the browser and I got a SocketPermission exception. I did some reading on the subject and found out that I need to make some changes to the java.policy file in order to grant my applet access to …

Hey, I am not sure whether this is the right place to ask this but I figured that maybe someone here has used JFileUpload for uploading files to a server. I just downloaded the applet and tested it out on my server and uploading works as long as the files are smaller that 1,000 bytes, i.e. very small images. Whenever I try with a larger file I get the error:
Upload started ...Upload failed : java.net.SocketException: Software caused connection abort: socket write error
When I look at the request sent to my server, I see that it is using a …

Hey guys, Here's the problem I have: I am writing a server application in Java using the ServerSocket and Socket classes. I have an instance of ServerSocket which listens for connection and accepts them. The server runs a website that requires users to log in using an e-mail and a password. Everything works fine until I tried it on my local network at home - I am using a wireless router for 3 computers and they all share the same IP address and differ by their local address, e.g. one is 192.168.1.1 and another is 192.168.1.2, etc. The problem is …

hi everyone, I am trying to design an assembler program with Python using Tkinter and so far it is going pretty good. I just have one question: Is there anyway to change the text color of just a selected text using a text area? What I mean is, you know how in python when you insert a comment the color of the comment is different than the color of the statements; same for function definitions etc. Instead of '#' I am using ';' for comments but I have no idea how to implement this. I've googled it up but with …

hi currently I am developing a game in python called TankWar, it is basically 1vs1 game style and each player has its own turn. Both players control their respective tanks using the control keys and WASD and they can specify the missile's angle, velocity, tank position. I am using an equation to find the range of the missile and that works fine. The problem I am having is to design the projectile motion in parabola. I know what the equation is but the missile is launched about 100 px above of the tank and I can't figure out why. Here's …

hi all, I have a really weird problem with my windows xp. Everything works ok but when I load explorer and open drive c: all I can see are the folders - without their names. To be exact, the names are there but their text font is white, so if you click on a folder the name is displayed but otherwise is invisible. Is there anyway to fix the font of the text for the folders on drive c:? any help is appreciated :) Thx in advance:) P.S all other drives work ok!

Hi all, for some time now I have been trying to practice developing python games and I've had a really annoying problem. I want to use image files but most of the time the picture itself is not a regular rectangle but an oval etc. and the thing that I can't figure out is how to remove the boundary rectangle around the image. I am not using pygame... Is there anything I can do to achieve that ? I have attached the file I need to convert and the problem is the white rectangle around it. Sry if this sounds …

hii everybody, I have a weird problem with a program for solving sudoku puzzles. I am representing the puzzle as a list of lists of lists containing all the possibillities for a single square and my problem is that when I try to remove a single appearance of a number from a square, the number is removed from all the squares in the grid. I am using the .remove() function and I am not sure why it is behaving like that. Here is the code I am having trouble with... def eliminate( grid, square, value ): row = square[ 0 …
