that's good but can I do that with a system sound so I don't need to specify the directory of the sound file.

i need to play a system sound like in a chat program i am using
[CODE]Interaction.Beep[/CODE]

{
document.getElementById('ad').style.display = 'block'
}else{
setTimeout(ad(),1000);

ok thanks ill have a look at that

if there are any other ideas let me know

ok well i am making a loop that gets all the drives in a drive box and inserts a picbox and a label for each one.

because there can be a different a number of drives i want to add some code that will insert code (for when the label or picbox is clicked) in the loop

i need to add code to the form using code like the
Controls.Add().

but to add code not a control.

any ideas.

I am using a MDI Form and several documents can be opened using
"CommonDialog1.ShowOpen"

If i open a file then go back to open another file but click cancel or the "x" then it will open the last file.

so i need to know how to clear the "#1"

my code it:
[CODE]
FileName = ""
Data = ""
MDIForm1.CommonDialog1.Filter = "All Files(.)|.|Text Files(.txt)|.txt|Web Files(.html;.htm;.shtml;.shtm;.xhtml;.php;.php3;.phtml;.css;.js;)|.html;.htm;.shtml;.shtm;.xhtml;.php;.php3;.phtml;.css;.js;|Batch Files(.bat;.cmd;.nt;)|.bat;.cmd;.nt;|VB Files(.vb;.vbs;.frm;.vbp;)|.vb;.vbs;.frm;.vbp;"
On Error GoTo error
MDIForm1.CommonDialog1.ShowOpen
Me.Caption = MDIForm1.CommonDialog1.FileTitle
FileName = MDIForm1.CommonDialog1.FileName
Open FileName For Input As #1

Do Until EOF(1)

    Input #1, Data
    Me.Text1.Text = Me.Text1.Text + Data + vbCrLf
EOF (1)
Loop
Close #1
FileName = ""
Data = ""

GoTo endload
[/CODE]

Any ideas

I have cleared the "FileName" and "Data" but it still does it so i need to find a way to stop it.

thanks

i found some info and i am using the code:

[CODE]
Private Function find(first, second)
pos = InStr(1, Text1.Text, first, vbTextCompare)
pos2 = InStr(1, Text1.Text, second, vbTextCompare)
start = pos + Len(first)
length = pos2 - start
Text1.SelStart = start
Text1.SelLength = length - 2
End Function
[/CODE]

to find and select the text.

But how else am i going to do it

I'm making a text editor like notepad but better because i'm using an mdiform so you can have multiple files open at once.

This is the code i got.

MDIForm:
[CODE]Private Sub menuAbout_Click()
frm_About.Show
End Sub

Private Sub menuName_Click()
frm_New.Show
End Sub

Private Sub menuOpen_Click()
frm_open.Show
End Sub

Private Sub menuSave_Click()

' loads save as box
MDIForm1.CommonDialog1.ShowSave
On Error GoTo error
filelocation = MDIForm1.CommonDialog1.FileName
Me.ActiveForm.Caption = MDIForm1.CommonDialog1.FileTitle
' append saves over file if it assists
Open filelocation For Output As #1
Close #1
Open filelocation For Append As #1
Print #1, Me.ActiveForm.Text1.Text
Close #1
GoTo endload

error:
errorreport (0)

endload:
End Sub

Function errorreport(error)
Dim intResponse As Integer
intResponse = MsgBox("There was an Error wile trying to load", vbExclamation, "Quit")
End Function[/CODE]

frm_open:
[CODE]Private Sub Form_Load()
MDIForm1.CommonDialog1.ShowOpen
Me.Caption = MDIForm1.CommonDialog1.FileTitle
FileName = MDIForm1.CommonDialog1.FileName
On Error GoTo error

Open FileName For Input As #1

Do Until EOF(1)

    Input #1, Data
    Me.Text1.Text = Me.Text1.Text + Data + vbCrLf
EOF (1)
Loop
Close #1
FileName = ""

GoTo endload

error:
errorreport (0)

endload:
End Sub
Function errorreport(error)
Dim intResponse As Integer
intResponse = MsgBox("There was an Error wile trying to load", vbExclamation, "Quit")
End Function

Private Sub Form_Resize()
Text1.Height = Me.ScaleHeight
Text1.Width = Me.ScaleWidth
End Sub[/CODE]

frm_new:
[CODE]Private Sub Form_Load()
Me.Caption = "text.txt"
End Sub

Private Sub Form_Resize()
Text1.Height = Me.ScaleHeight
Text1.Width = Me.ScaleWidth
End Sub[/CODE]

I've also got an about form but i don't think you need that.

So i need one text box on each form and up to 100 forms ...

yes and no

yes i need to make a form like that(but i already have the form made).

no i want multiple of the forms open

ill post all my code and what im doing.

sorry thats not helping ether

this is great

But i need something like this:

[CODE]
Private Sub menuName_Click()
Dim f1 As String
f1 = Int(100000 * rnd() + 1)
Dim f1 As New frm_New
f1.Show
End Sub
[/CODE]

monthDOB = Int(Text4.Text)
yearDOB = Int(Text5.Text)
DOB = dayDOB + "/" + monthDOB + "/" + yearDOB

yearold = DateDiff("yyyy", DOB, Now)
monthold = DateDiff("m", DOB, Now)
weekold = DateDiff("w", DOB, Now)
dayold = DateDiff("d", DOB, Now)
