i am designing a page where the user enters the start date for a uni session say
04/02/2008 in dd/mm/yyyy format and then the user selects the duration for the session in weeks, say 22.
our system needs to calculate the end date for the session by adding 22 weeks to the start date...i can do this in real life by looking up a calender that shows week of the year....how do we do it programming.
we are using java/jsp, any suggestions please.

Thanks, i hadn't thought about the super moderator, this is a nice feature and i am keeping it too. still will keep things simple so that i am sure i can make it in the end.

any idea what algorithm to use for scheduling? though i havn't reached the design stage but would welcome comment on it.

hello,
my final year project is to make a web application for a discussion forum for a university environment. i am about to submit my requirement specification document.
i guess the context diagram for this system will have three actors,
1- Students.....who post questions
2- Moderators/ Instructors...... who reply to posts
3- Administrators.......takes overall care

can someone please tell me the difference in privileges of a moderator and an administrator in such an environment, how do i show these two actors in my context diagram. my project supervisor is not satisfied with my system diagram as yet, need to improve.

I am in the final year of my BS in IT. its time for me to choose a project. The List provided to me by my univ. doesn't seem to inspire me much.
Are there any possibilities of using Operation Research techniques in IT project.

i would greatly welcome some comments.
Uninstall Netscape from "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel and then reinstall it. Alternatively, if you have downloaded add-ins for Netscape such as a calendar for instance, try disabling the add-in or installing the latest version of the add-in.
Thanks, if i uninstall netscape will i lose my netscape messenger too, (including all the messages and addresses)and what about my bookmarks? i downloaded the latest netscape browser, but it is Just the browser, and looks complicated.

it's not that i dont use IE, but i am a great appreciator of netscape with its messenger and composer built in one convinient package.
If I have x = M^(d + t.N) (mod N)
....

knowing that d, t and N are huge numbers ?
though i dont much about modular arithmetic but if d,t and N are numbers why dont you do simple arithmetic to convert(d+t.N) to just (n)
i am sure someone else will give you your solution.

i found the correct answer last night, when doing binary division for CRC checksum method we are not suppose to do the normal subtraction in the division instead a XOR is performed between the values and this eventually gives the desired remainder that is appended with the original message in CRC checksum technique.

nemo
If you convert it to decimal you can easily check your answer.

If you use remainders however, the answer is 22r2. the accuracy of your solution will yield different answers.
you're right converting to decimal is an easy way to check answer. i am happy with my answer, the problem is my teacher is not :( and i dont want him to mark my solution wrong, i desperately want an A here, cant lose a single mark.
actually it is a data communication course and we have to use the remainder to generate the CRC code for reliable data tranfer and detection of errors over communication lines.

thnx for ur help

in one of my course my teacher and i do not agree on how 100100000 should be divided by 1101 using binary division , after solution the quotient i get is 010110 with remainder 010.
my teacher gets another, can someone please confirm a correct solution for it.
