I am new to WP (trying to help my partner), and looking for an easy to use theme that kind of looks like what I have at pritaeas.net. Basically I want the homepage to feature images (text optional) pointing to a section on the website. I have been searching but there is so much out there, I have no idea where to start or what keywords to use when searching.

I have resurrected [this sticky](https://www.daniweb.com/programming/web-development/threads/435023/read-this-before-posting-a-question). I know it's target is PHP at the moment, but I'm planning to broaden the subject for web development (HTML/CSS/Js). If anyone has something useful to add, please let me know in this thread and I'll look into adding it. Do NOT just reply with links, please provide a reason for adding. Link only replies will be ignored. Use the comment/voting system if you (dis)agree with someone's addition, I will take that into account. Please keep it pleasant.

Please see attached screenshot. Both threads were started by Pavan_9 but somehow it is showing maverick2020. Or is this caused perhaps by a name change. ![Untitled.png](/attachments/large/0/32a4fe073a2986a18ff771bf9ac4e7ea.png "align-center")

Does anybody have a definite reference to whether the mimetype of an AutoCAD 3D STEP file (.stp) is `application/STEP` or `application/x-step`?

I have a MultiView in a part of a WebForms page (within a RadPane which is a Telerik component). It contains two Views, an overview and a detail view. When switching between them, the scrollbar position is kept, but I would like to force it to the top. All options I've found so far work on a regular page, but not within a MultiView. Can anyone shed some light on this perhaps?

Hi. We're looking into building an easy to use audio player to use at parties. BPM Studio works great, but most people don't know it and have trouble using it. So far I've found [NAudio](https://naudio.codeplex.com), which makes playing mp3's easy. I'm looking for something I can use so I can fade out the running audio, and fade in the next one, preferably on a different channel. Any information, experiences, etc. welcomed.

https://www.daniweb.com/programming/web-development/code/497022/automatic-facebook-post-bumper Inline code snippets are much smaller then the snippets in the code part of a code snippet article. Could you please make them equally small, for readability's sake?

I could not select article type (code snippet) when creating a new thread from the web development forum. Anything I missed?

When I hover over a user logo in the endorsement page, the name appears on the left hand side of my screen (Opera). At closer inspection, it appears to be a general issue with the tooltips. Same happens in my profile over the question mark buttons.

No matter what I type in the search box, it only returns links to member profiles, if any.

You have some serious query/caching issues. Times vary but slow nonetheless. Finder -> My Bookmarks Page generated in 26.1996 seconds with 8 database queries and 7 memcached requests using 6.01MB of memory Latest Posts Page generated in 16.5247 seconds with 5 database queries and 6 memcached requests using 4.71MB of memory Latest Post Comments Page generated in 47.6937 seconds with 5 database queries and 32 memcached requests using 4.92MB of memory While posting this to your shoutbox earlier I noticed that my profile dropdown and the finder dropdown aren't working in the shoutbox.

I notice that the forum list (e.g. PHP) is not updating consistently today. I posted a reply in one thread, and deleted one in another, but the main PHP page is not showing those updates? Did something change? https://www.daniweb.com/web-development/php/threads/498436/order-by-with-numbers-countdown I replied, but the OP is still showing as last replier. I replied to a new response in the meantime so this one no longer has the issue. https://www.daniweb.com/web-development/databases/threads/479478/about-auto-generation-no Deleted the last reply, but still showing the deleted poster.

This is more a general approach question. I have an old ORM like framework for this application. Basically what it does, if it needs to load a bunch of objects/records, is for every child object in my result a new query is triggered to get it's data. Since the nesting can get pretty deep, it triggers a lot of queries to get everything it needs. How would you approach this to make it more efficient? I've left out a lot, to avoid blinding you with what I have (since that is not really important here). (I'm not looking for framework …

Just came across this funny description about runaway code: http://www.nczonline.net/blog/2015/05/14/the-bunny-theory-of-code/ I'm guilty in enabling such bad habits at times (copying without questioning), who else? Just be careful it doesn't turn into a killer rabbit...

Did you change the frequency of notification e-mails? Yesterday cereal voted on a post, and I got an email today. I've noticed this last week too, yet remember getting them almost instantly before that.

For one of our projects we are looking for a Word editor that can be used in ASP.NET without the need of Office/Word being installed on the server. The requirement is that we need to be able to edit Word mail merge templates online. Any advice or pointers welcomed.

Am currently trying to use the Web API and accept a HTTP POST containing an XML. I was under the impression that this could be automatically deserialized into an object, but I am missing something. public class Item { public int Value { get; set; } } This one works, I receive the XML from SoapUI and can act upon it [HttpPost] public HttpResponseMessage Post(int id, HttpRequestMessage request) { var doc = new XmlDocument(); doc.Load(request.Content.ReadAsStreamAsync().Result); HttpResponseMessage response = Request.CreateResponse(HttpStatusCode.OK, new Item() { Value = id }); return response; } I'd like to have this though: [HttpPost] public HttpResponseMessage Post(int id, …

I have the following: <h1><asp:Literal runat="server" Text="<%$ Localize:LoginRequest %>"/></h1> <fieldset> <legend></legend> <input runat="server" class="form-control" placeholder="E-mail" type="text" /> <input runat="server" class="form-control" placeholder="Password" name="password" type="password" value="" /> <button runat="server" type="submit" class="btn btn-default"><asp:Literal runat="server" Text="<%$ Localize:Submit %>"/></button> </fieldset> `Localize` is a custom expression builder to translate my strings from a resource file. I would like to do the same for the `placeholder` attribute. I know I can do this server-side, but I would like to have a similar method. Is there any available? I know I could use: <input class="form-control" placeholder="<%= GetString("Email") %>" type="text" /> but then I cannot use `runat="server"`.

I'm looking for a user login (or identity) tutorial/example on MVC5 that uses an existing SQL Server database and user table, so NOT code first, and NOT using Entity. Can't see the forest through the trees apparently, because I cannot seem to find one.
