hi i ended up posting in here a while ago about the same problem i think but i cant remember. anyway my dvd drive is giving me a hard time loading any discs that will go in the drive. i try and burn dvds and it will only let me burn 1 dvd a day. 2 if i'm lucky. i tried cleaning the disc with a disc cleaner but it still does the same thing. i thought it was a bad drive but the only symptom i have is that i put it in and it starts to make the sound that its going to load but it sometimes doesn't load. the drives not loud or noisy. it registers with the computer and it shows i have a d drive. but i don't know whats wrong with it. i don't really have money to take it anywhere to get it fixed and looked at.

would the drive do that if the software of the drive needed to be updated? how can you tell the drive would need to be updated or how would you even diagnose a software problem with the dvd drive? thank you in advanced to anyone that responds and helps. the laptop i have is a toshiba satellite L355(not sure if that helps either but ill give you that too). thank you.

hi i have a toshiba(don't know the model number i got this about 7 years ago lol) and back in december i noticed that this back up message was popping up telling me that it could not find file onelinebackup.installer tasks.installer state. i have a program from charter called the charter cloud drive. i use it to store my info online on my account of the cloud drive. but realized it is not working properly. i tried uninstalling it and it won't let me. i tried repairing it and it won't let me. i tried contacting charter and they told me that i had to contact toshiba. i contacted toshiba and they wouldn't help me because my warranty ran out and told me if i renew my warranty they can help me(which i don't have money to do that) so i figure i would try my luck here since i don't really know that much about this kind of thing.

also my toshiba dvd player won't play because it is missing a file as well. so i was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem or if i had to download the file im missing somewhere? and if that is the case where can i find the file to download to get my computer back and working like new again? any help would be appreciated. thanks to who ever answers and trys to help.

hi everyone. i have a problem here. not sure if this is the right area to post this in if not i apologize. i have charter communications for internet and with the internet came this cloud drive where you can download this software and it upload all of your personal stuff(music, videos ect) on the website to store it and you can then access it anywhere on any computer. well it was working fine and then last month i believe it stopped working it kept telling me that i needed to install the software again. so i installed the software again but it wouldn't let me install it. there was a message that kept popping up saying that software couldn't be installed. could not find file onlinebackup.installer tasks.install state. so i thought maybe if i tried to uninstall and reinstall it it would be fine. it wouldn't let me uninstall it at all. i can't repair it, reinstall it, uninstall it nothing. it won't let me do anything with the program. and i can't figure out why or what to do. if someone knows anything or how to get it working again please let me know. thank you.

hi. i have a toshiba laptop(not sure what model number is) and for a while now(i would say prolly since last year) i have been having a hard time with the drive loading stuff. when i pop the drive out and put cd's, dvds, software discs, game discs what ever it may be and i push in the drive to have the computer recognize it and load it, it usually doesn't load. i have to pop the drive out and push it back in at least 4 or more times for it to load. each time i put it in it ends up making noise like its going to recognize and load and after 5 minutes of the laptop making noise it stops and doesn't load i will finally get it to load after 15 to 20 minutes of fighting with it. sometimes i can't load anything up at all unless i shut all the programs down and shut the computer itself down for a while and turn the computer back on an hour later. it get really frustrating when i am copying cd's and dvds cause after each copy i have to shut down my computer for an hour and make another copy after i turn it back on. it works when i restart it instead of shutting it down but it only works when i restart it once and then i have to shut it down completely to let it sit for an hour. was wondering if anyone ...

hi ive been noticing that when i'm playing online games my internet speed will lag or slow down. ive gone to speedtest.net and checked everything over there and this is the results from that: http://www.speedtest.net/result/2371030413.png

i don't really know what those numbers mean at all and was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the matter? also was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how i kould make my internet speed faster than what it is so it won't lag when i'm playing games. some people suggested me to download speedguide.net and then download the tcp optimizer and that will fix the slow speed with the internet but don't know anything about that website at all. just curious if anyone knows any good ways to speed up the internet speed or any programs that could help with windows vista. any input would help. don't really know much about this topic and stuff lol. thank you.

hi i have a hp laptop. i ended up shutting down the laptop last night and started it up today and the screen is black but i can still see things. barely but still can see things. i ended up trying to hold down the fn button and move arrow up or down to brighten or dim it but nothing happened. i was wondering, could that be from a burned out backlight or a broken backlight? if so how much would it cost?
