I'd tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. ;)

Thats alright, its worth it!

super secret stuff mere mortals can't handle. Their brains'd explode out of their ears, which leaves a terrible mess (we experimented, why do you think the total number of users is so much lower than the active number of users?).

Whats in there?

Make a monetary donation to DaniWeb and you too will be able to enter Area 51.

It is just a 51 square pixel area that contains the secrets of DaniWeb and how to win the Internets.

Tell us more about the donation thing. 5 US Dollars for one month, up to 45 US Dollars for 12 months. What, if one can only give a 5 or a 10 dollar now and then, but not monthly or yearly? Will you gain the extra privelages and then it will be taken away again, untill your next donation when you can afford it, or how will it work?

Kraai, you are correct. Once you donate you become a "Sponsor" and you account automatically gets special privileges unlocked. Included is access to Area-51. Once the term of expires so do the privs. But you can always get them back again the next time you donate.

For other priviliges click here

The area51 forum is actually a sort of feedback forum, but better. New options for DW are discussed with members with access. A good example is the new rep-power that was introduced last week. This was discussed for a few days before the algorithm was changed to it's current form.

Thanks for telling me Nick

That's where we found out that Narue is really an alien from Venus (see the UFO thread).

The coasters are not true, but the cocktails are.. oh, and there are women skinny-dipping.. :P

About what stuff did you guys do in Area 51, cocktails and black helicopters... It really sounds like the military base in the US. Does Area 51 have alien as well?

Isn't Donating an act of morality, rather then to gain privliges, it's not really donating at all if your getting something in return is it? It's more like buying something.

So it's like $4.50 Australian dollars?

Actually, it is an act of morality. But of course, DW would want to give back something in return to those people that shells out their hard earned cash to help keep this site up and running. Area 51 is just one of the priveleges that they are given. Access to it is not for sale but rather it's the least thing that DW can give back to the financially helping members.
