In the poultry farming and egg production business, cushioning plays a vital role in ensuring that eggs are transported safely or stored. Among the available packaging options, egg cartons are a common feature in this industry. However, as environmental consciousness continues to grow, the demand for sustainable packaging solutions has become increasingly prevalent. Here is where Poultry Cartons comes in; a company committed to transforming egg packaging by using eco-friendly materials specifically pulp egg cartons.

The Adaptability of Egg Cartons:

Over time, people have always related egg transportation and storage with egg cartons being used interchangeably. These containers protect eggs from breakage while enabling easy handling and organization to both producers and consumers. In contrast to other earlier versions of carton boxes made from polystyrene or plastic which had non-biodegradable nature with negative environmental impact.

THE RISE OF PULP EGG CARTONS:

In response to these environmental concerns, pulp egg cartons have been introduced as a sustainable alternative. Made from recycled paper pulp, these cartons are not only biodegradable but also compostable, offering a more eco-friendly solution for the traditional egg packaging. In fact, their excellent protective qualities mean that eggs can be well protected from impacts while at the same time allowing adequate airflow to maintain freshness.

INTRODUCING POULTRY CARTONS:

At the forefront of this eco-friendly packaging revolution is Poultry Cartons. Committed to sustainability and innovation, Poultry Cartons specializes in producing high-quality egg cartons made of recycled paper pulp. In fact, every aspect of their operations reflects dedication to the …

Hi Ryan Morgan,
I'm am glad your were successful in recovering your data.

I have dealt with several similar situations. Some were with my computers, other times, friends and family members. As you, I bought data recovery software and dealt with the process myself. Making the decision whether to take it to a pro or do it myself, came down to the data involved. If it is business critical, let the pros do it. If the files are not worth thousands, I'll do it. If toe failure was electronics related, i.e. the drive is not recognized, then it is the pro or nothing.

Since Drive Management app showed the drive could be read, you arrived at the same decision I would have.

Cheers, Mike

Have you tried connecting your external hard drive to another computer which running a different operating system?

Ryan Morgan commented: Yes, of course. But nothing changed, the disc behaved the same way on other computers. +0

I’m glad you were able to recover your important files.

Ryan Morgan 0 U+1F3F9

I was able to solve this problem.

First, I was able to make a copy of the disc using Clonezilla.

I came across this video tutorial.

True, it cost me $97.95, but that's nothing compared to taking the disc to a specialist. I risked losing my files forever. But I can't afford to pay a lot of money.
Let me tell you a little bit about how I did it.
I downloaded Hetman Partition Recovery, the software mapped my RAW drive, which used to be FAT, and started a full scan. It found most of my files and successfully recovered them. Yes, it couldn't recover all the files, but I was lucky: I recovered the most important ones.

And yes, make copies of important files (discs) for the future.

Also thanks to everyone who tried to help me)

Assuming you intend to ignore the sound advice of your compatriots here, I recommend having a look at a tool called Foremost. I'm a specialist and that's what I would use.

I'd recommend to stop messing around and bring it to a specialized recovery shop, as rproffitt already mentioned. The more you tamper with it, the more chance you'll lose your data.

Ryan Morgan 0 U+1F3F9

I was recommended to pull the disc out of the box and connect it directly through the SATA interface.
Now I have this picture.

Ugh, I'm so sorry that happened. I've had that happen with two different external hard drives over the years ... both were LaCie drives from a very long time ago. Unfortunately, I never took any steps to try to recover them, and lost the data on them at the time. I hope you're able to figure something out in this case.

You might try spin-rite

If this is your first foray into data recovery, it's best to send it to data recovery shops.

Any do-it-yourself or recovery apps are never a sure thing. You can try RECUVA but sometimes folk balk that it doesn't FIX the drive. No data recovery app should write to said drive. It should only recover or copy files out. Writing to a damaged drive is too dangerous.
If you feel RECUVA wasn't good enough feel free to Google "Recuva Alternatives." For me if Recuva doesn't do the job, the drive is sent to a recovery house.

Think of the unicycle, one wheel, hard to avoid a crash. Bicycle is much better and the tricycle almost everyone can ride without trouble. The same for storage drives. Google 321 BACKUP and yup, 3 copies or you may not have your data for long. A single copy is prone to loss. Even a second drive with the copies would have saved you.

Hello, I have encountered an unpleasant event. My external hard drive has stopped working. The disc is no longer readable . When I connect the disc to my computer, the system asks me to format it.

There are very important files on the disc.

Does anyone know how to help me?

There are a few ways to create an ISO image from your bootable Windows 7 USB drive even though you've lost the original DVD:

Free Tools:

Rufus: This free and popular tool can be used to both create bootable USB drives and extract their contents as an ISO image. Download the latest version, plug in your USB drive, select it in Rufus, and under "Image file" browse to a location on your hard drive to save the ISO. Click "Start" and wait for the process to finish.
Ventoy: This multiboot USB tool has the ability to directly boot ISO files or convert existing bootable USB drives to ISOs. Download Ventoy, install it on a secondary USB drive, copy the files from your Windows 7 USB drive to the Ventoy drive, and then under Ventoy's settings, click "Add" and select the copied Windows 7 files. This will create an ISO image within Ventoy.
Commercial Tools:

Easy Image Backup Pro: This tool offers a straightforward way to create an ISO image from any drive, including your bootable USB. Select the USB drive as the source, choose a destination for the ISO file, and click "Copy Now."
WinISO: This tool allows you to create or extract ISO images from various sources, including your bootable USB drive. Select the "Extract ISO" option, choose the USB drive as the source, and specify a destination for the ISO file.
Additional Tips:

Make sure your USB drive has enough space: The ISO image will be approximately the …

If your new Wi-Fi network isn't showing up on your laptop, try refreshing the network list or toggling Wi-Fi off and on. Ensure the router is broadcasting the SSID and check if it's set to a frequency your laptop can detect (2.4GHz or 5GHz). Update your network drivers to the latest version from your laptop manufacturer's website. Finally, confirm you're within a good range of the router, as distance and obstacles can affect visibility. If the network is still not appearing, you may need to delve into more advanced settings or consider hardware issues.

By the way, Microsoft continues to be annoying as it seems they periodically reset this setting.

Reverend Jim 4,695 Hi, I'm Jim, one of DaniWeb's moderators. Moderator Featured Poster

I don't buy that explanation. They could as easily have added text warning "you must lock your computer manually if you select this option" instead of treating their users as idiot children.

I have to wonder why this setting is disabled (greyed out) when it is clear that disabling the password requirement is obviously compatible with Windows Hello?

This is because it will invoke a security issue for most of the non-techy people those who are not aware of this new setting. They might think that their laptop will be locked when they close the lid; but it won't if the settings are like you explained.

Tried that. Oddly enough, Spotlight works on the Lock Screen, but not the desktop.

Reverend Jim 4,695 Hi, I'm Jim, one of DaniWeb's moderators. Moderator Featured Poster

Try going into

Personalization -> Lock Screen

Select some option other than Windows Spotlight, exit, and reboot. Then go set it back to Windows Spotlight.

Good detective work! I really like Windows 11, but the list settings are becoming quite extensive and almost overwhelming. Some of it' quirks can drive a person nuts. The latest for me is Windows desktop Spotlight has quit working, which seems to have been an issue going back couple years for some. I made no changes to my desktop settings. It just booted up to Windows "Bloom" one morning and Spotlight wasn't working. I've tried just about all the suggestions found online to no avail. Anyway, good work.

My laptop seldom leaves my house. When I am not using it I close the lid to put it into sleep mode. I also close the lid when carrying it to another room (or perhaps into the backyard hammock). This causes a minor inconvenience as every time I open the lid I have to enter my password to unlock it. On my old (Windows 10) laptop I was able to turn this off but because Microsoft keeps changing the layout of the Settings app I had to Goggle to find out how to disable this in Windows 11. The new process was

  1. Open Settings
  2. Select Accounts
  3. Select Sign-in options
  4. Scroll down to Additional settings

Under Additional settings there is a section with the text If you've been away when should Windows require you to sign in again?" To the right of this is a drop-down box with the default text Every Time. According to Google (and Microsoft) I simply have to select a different option, like Never**.

That would be the case if the entire section were not greyed out and followed by the text Windows Hello is preventing some options from being displayed.

The recommended solution from Microsoft was to

  1. Install the latest version of Windows
  2. Apply all outstanding Windows updates
  3. Run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit
  4. Run the built-in troubleshooter
  5. Remove Windows Hello and re-install it

Since I keep my laptop current I focused on Windows Hello. Specifically, Windows Hello is used to facilitate access …

Step 1: Check Drive Connection

Ensure that the HDD's cables are properly connected to your motherboard and power supply.
Step 2: Check Disk Management

Right-click on the Windows Start button and select "Disk Management."
Look for the drive that is labeled as a local disk and is not usable.
If the drive appears there, it might need to be initialized or assigned a drive letter.
Step 3: Initialize the Drive (if needed)

In Disk Management, you might see a message asking to initialize the disk. If so, follow the prompts to initialize it.
Choose the appropriate partition style (usually MBR or GPT) based on your needs.
Step 4: Assign a Drive Letter (if needed)

Right-click on the drive in Disk Management.
Select "Change Drive Letter and Paths."
Click "Add" and choose a drive letter for the partition.
Click "OK" to save the changes.
Step 5: Check for Errors

Open a Command Prompt with administrative privileges. To do this, search for "cmd" in the Windows search bar, right-click on "Command Prompt," and select "Run as administrator."
In the Command Prompt, type chkdsk H: /f (replace "H" with the appropriate drive letter) and press Enter. This command will check and repair any file system errors on the drive.
Step 6: Reboot Your PC

After performing the above steps, reboot your computer to see if the drive is now accessible and functional.
Step 7: Data Recovery (if necessary)

If none of the above steps work and you have important data on the inaccessible …

It's standard Edge behavior. It adds a link to pages you visit frequently. I just filled it with pinned links (DaniWeb first ;) ) so there's no room for it to add more links. If they're not pinned it can shuffle or replace a link with something else it thinks is more relevant. So far pinning seems to work.

Is it possible you have a plugin installed that is doing it on your behalf?

SCBWV 54 Junior Poster

Ugh, I spoke too soon. It's back to adding links. So frustrating. I can't find where Edge is storing the links to perhaps make it read only. Only workaround I can think of is to populate and pin 8 links I like so there's no room for it to add others.

Thanks for asking. I could be doing better, but I’m hanging in there. I’ve been able to make it to the computer the last two days without getting a migraine after 10 minutes by lowering the resolution to something practically impossible to work with.
