Titanium +Geo , a new location-based analytics platform for mobile applications, released on September 29, 2010 and developed jointly by Appcelerator® and FortiusOne, allows marketers and retailers to accurately measure the effect of where, when and how their mobile applications are being used by their customers.

This is a data management system that captures and analyzes visual real time data from mobile devices and social media services allowing intuitive exploration and the sharing of geo-tagged data. With this tool, businesses will no longer have to guess about the effectiveness or the relevancy of their mobile content, but will have real time analytics for every dollar spent.

The Titanium platform combines enterprise data, such as location, coupons and customer databases with social media data, demographics and even the location of competitors. Unlike PC applications, mobile applications are most often location driven and a premium is placed on being able to pinpoint the what, where and when of usage. This new platform combines GeolQ, developed by FortiusOne and utilized by US intelligence agencies, with mobile technology. According to Appcelerator, developers can more accurately target offers, cross-sell products and interpret the geo-social context of their applications. Scott Schwarzhoff, VP Marketing at Appcelerator states this new platform makes geo analytic data available to a broader market. He cites a recent survey conducted by the company that showed 42% of developers had a strong interest in geo-analytics, either in current projects or in the future.

The Titanium platform delivers cross-platform support for applications on Android, iPhone and Blackberry with a single set of source code. Using just a few lines of code, developers and can automatically capture the location of any mobile event. This data is then combined and analyzed with the data from their internal systems and also with the 45,000 data sets in the FortiusOne GeoCommons database to better understand the rate of return on mobile and social expenditures. This platform will be available in the 4th quarter of this year.
