UGHHH I have a research assignment on this subject and I can not for the life of me find any reputable sources that mention this at all. If anyone knows of any academic sources that even mention non-english programming briefly or even discuss programming being mainly in english I would be eternally gratefullll

Check out "Brainphuck" language, on Wikipedia. (with an 'f') ;)

It messes with you, but it's not English, for sure. ;) They mention others, as well.

Wel, I know Portugol.
Portugol is just a pseudo-code language used to teach programming logic to students that speak the Portuguese language. (I hate it btw...)
It was never meant to be a real programming language until someone created a compiler for it. (The language itself is not useful besides to teach people with little to no knowledge of english language)

Wikipedia link: http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portugol
Wikipedia page for the compiler: http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visualg
Compiler download: http://www.apoioinformatica.inf.br/programas (official page)

(I guess you will need a translator to read these pages as they have no version in english)
