Hi all,

I am trying to modify sqliteman. I need to add a module able to import plug ins made in python.
Mainly, this is in order to have some sort of powered Excel where data are stored in a DB and macro are written in Python and can have a Qt interface.

As Sqliteman is written in C++ and Qt, I'd like to ask some help. If someone is interested or has advices. I program in python, but not in C++, but that should not be a big problem.

You could email the guys in charge: http://sqliteman.com/page/7.html and tell them you are interested in writing this and see if they can point you in the right direction. Sometimes they will give you the best free tutorial you can imagine, sometimes they will yell at you and tell you go to away, and sometimes they will simply ignore you. You have to be prepared for all three scenarios.

Hi David,

I am already in contact with them. Let's see, they are really busy and I do not know if they will help me. Because basically I need a lot of help to do this as I am not a C++ developer. The developer, however, gave me this link http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Kross/Introduction.

I think that using Kross, doing a pluggable module in sqliteman should just be a matter of hours for an experienced developer. But the outcome may be quite good, as there is no decent DB driven analytical software out there.
