ehm ... you may have given a wrong url. there may be problems with your internet connection, ....
but without giving a bit more information, it's pretty difficult to give a more profound answer.

What is the download link and where did you get it from?

my internet connection is working fine..

i always get the problem of "encountered problem in connection to the software sites

@engrjd91
Nobody can help unless you are prepared to give a lot more information. Eg Which version of Eclipse? Is this all plugins? Just one plugin? Which one, exactly? Ignoring peoples' questions will get you nowhere.

i have eclipse (indigo) ...
when go to the help->install new software..
soon i enter this window it gives the error
"encountered problem in connection to the software sites"

after ignoring I have tried to enter the link in the work with area.. in the same window...
it never loads the site contents it gives me the error as

"Multiple problems occured"
&
"unable to read repository at http://download.eclipse.org/releases/indigo"

is this enough now?

plz help

OK, that helps to narrow it down!

  1. Check Eclipse's proxy settings - should use system default
  2. Check firewall isn't blocking Eclipse
  3. Try running Eclipse as administrator
  4. Could be an IPv6 problem, Try updating eclipse.ini
under line -vmargs add this line:
    -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true
  5. Update to the current release (Juno SR1) and try again

when i edit the eclipse.ini file..
it says "ACCESS DENIED"

now what ?

Is Eclipse open? If not, this looks like an access privileges problem - try running as administrator, or change the security on the eclipse folder to allow full control for all users.

I'm an Englishman living in France, and the England vs France Rugby match is about to start on the TV, so, sorry, but I'm going to be unavailable for a while. Good luck, I'm sure someone else can help...
