What compiler/OS? There will probably be documentation provided with your system. There may be something like this for Windows, or this for Linux.

I've to write the code in visual C++ 6.0..... I saw the documentation of msdn..but found it too confusing....as i am a newbie to visual c++ too...
can you please for the moment tell me a simple program to get ip address of a website?? ..
then I can learn about dns query...

P.S> i m using visual c++. ..my final dns query has to be sent to my mysql server on internet..hosted on linux with apache and php...
