I am having trouble copying projects, I am using allegro 5 on my course at the moment so it makes completing the exercises faster by creating a default allegro project which has been modified to contain the allegro libraries and such and using this to create new exercises.
The way I copy the project is:
- Copy entire folder to new location
- Rename the folder to a suitable name
- DELETE the .ipch, .sln, .suo and .user files
- Rename the .vcxproj file to the same name as the folder
- Double click on renamed .vcxproj file to open up project
This is where it won't work, I double click but it does nothing. I tried this at University and it worked - however it doesn't work on my PC or my laptop. There is something different about my settings or enviornment but I can't work out what it might be.
