Anybody familiar with AutoVue? Am using Desktop V20.2.2 embedded in a WinForm. Am looking if it's possible to set the background color. So far I haven't found any conclusive answer whether or not this is possible.

Hello Everyone! I'm looking for some advice from some C# pros out there. I am not a C# developer, I am a java/actionscript developer. I have an old VB6 component wrapped up into activeX that I am trying to update. I have rebuilt the component from scratch in visual studio 2010, and I can call it from an exe launcher that I made, and it all works. However, when I put it into a .cab file and attempt to reference it in an <object> tag, I get the error "Class does not support automation".
<OBJECT ID="ctlVBAX" classid="CLSID:F4EAC467-BFF3-413D-8F79-1FA5CD59B11F" width="0" height="0" CODEBASE="OutlookFreeBusy_v2.CAB#com.OutlookFreeBusy_v2.OutlookFreeBusy"> …

I am trying to state my problem very clearly. I want to retrieve a set of fonts. They are not found in the System's default font directory, and also their path is not written or set in the registry. But still they are shown in the font dialog box of any editor. Actually, in order to view with those fonts, one must install Bitstream's player plugin in Internet Explorer. As long as the page is open the font is shown in the font dialog, but disappears when IE window is closed. I can embed those fonts in a pdf file, …

Hi Guys, I'm in the process of developing an ActiveX control which is designed to check the status of an installation and the config of that installation if it is there. I'm 5/6ths of the way there, but in one of my steps, I rely on a 3rd party DLL's functions to check the config of the install. Now I'm not 100% sure but I think that these functions are trying to access the registry, and I'm not sure if ActiveX is allowed to do this (or if it is, then how it should be set up to do this). …

I've recently installed Windows 7 and is over all very pleased with everything apart from one thing; I can't use Live One Care anymore? Because of some settings in Internet Explorer I won't even get the option to "allow" the necessary activex routines that is needed for the tools and because of this the site just freezes.. Can someone please help me out with this as I am used to be able to use it, but now I can't anymore? Best regards: Stefan M. I am newish with python (ActivePython v2.6), and I am trying to automate AutoCAD 2010 (Acad) using module win32com (using acad's COM/ActiveX interfaces). Most of the interface is pretty straight forward, but I am getting hung up on functions that need to use VARIANTS to pass numerical arrays. Im not sure if my problem is on the python side or my misuse of Acads ActiveX. For several functions python handles variant conversion automagically, ex, for VARIANT strings I just use python strings and the function works as expected. It is with 2D/3D coordinate sets that I seem to be getting …

Greetings all! I'm facing a problem that's been throwing me for a loop for a while now. I'm implementing an old VB application that someone else wrote a long time ago onto a VM. I've gotten past a few different issues/errors just to get new ones (that's the name of the game though, right?) but while I've seen discussions on how to resolve this from a software development standpoint, I'm trying to see how to correct it based on the environment since it's already a developed app (with no source code here). I'm getting a message of "Error creating Letter: …

VB6 main app that starts multiple copies of one activex exe. using createobject and thread per object. need to communicate with the activex exe from the main app to start and to monitor progress. very low communications rate so communications speed is NOT a problem. need withevents to Dim it. unfortunately cannot set up an array of objects to make use of variable number of activex exe that start and the convenience of using an index to reference which activex is being accessed either from sub in the activex or calls back. how does one do this type of application? …

Microsoft has issued an advisory warning about a Visual Studio 2005 vulnerability in the WMI Object Broker ActiveX control, part of WmiScriptUtils.dll which could allow remote arbitrary code execution. The WMI Object Broker ActiveX control will circumvent the ActiveX security model, because it is marked as being ‘safe for scripting’ which should mean that it will not do anything that could damage the system or weaken security. Which should mean that it is safe from being controlled by a web page script calling its methods. Shoulda, woulda coulda. As US-CERT explain “the WMI Object Broker ActiveX control includes a method …
