Does anyone use FreeImage with VB6?? I have used this combination quite a bit over the years, but am stuck on something that I can't get working. I want to open a jpg image, rotate it by 30 degrees (or whatever) and then paste the resulting image onto another image. When the image is rotated, the overall canvas is made larger and a fill color is used for the 'empty' areas. I want those fill areas to be a transparent color. When I paste the rotated image, the background image will show through the filled areas. I have sample code …

I'm trying to implement a MiniMax algorithm with alpha/beta pruning. Totally stuck and can't see where I'm wrong. The class MiniMax contains a State and an Action. The method getAction returns an Action (supposedly the best action to take). The Game object has two methods, isTerminal returns true if the state is an "end state", ie there are no more children to that state. getUtility returns the value associated with an end state. I'm trying to decide wheter it is Max or Min turn by using the counter round. Currently the algorithm doesn't return the correct action, and at this …

Hi All, I have an online screen in which a form filed is filled with Numeric Characters .. if the entered four digits are not numeric, it will throw an alert message saying "**Only numerics allowed**". Now the new requirement is it should accept alphanumeric characeters instead of Numeric Characters. Below is the code which is used to check the value. if (vic.value.length != 4 || !isInteger(vic.value)) { alert ("VIC is required (4 numeric digits)."); return false; } How do i change this condition to check for Alpha Numeric Characters instead of Numeric. Thanks in Advance

Hello guys, I (attempted to) incorporate the alpha-beta pruning functionality with Negamax in C# and was wondering if you could review my included code for any obvious errors? Negamax Function: public int NegaMax(int[,] board, int depth, int alpha, int beta) { Interlocked.Increment(ref _negaMaxCtr); if (depth == 0) { Interlocked.Increment(ref _zeroCtr); return EvaluateBoard(board); } int[,] legalMoves = GetLegalMoves(board); var possMoveList = new List<int[]>(); int bestScore = -Int32.MaxValue; for (int r = 0; r < 8; r++) for (int c = 0; c < 8; c++) if (legalMoves[r, c] == 1) possMoveList.Add(new [] { r, c }); int n = possMoveList.Count; if …

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place (or perhaps the right forum for that matter) but it seemed like the most logical place... I am currently collaborating with several people to produce some graphic animation and movie files with alpha channel transparency for use in another program we are working in. One partner (who is working primarily with Mac software) created a video file of the format .MOV. The problem with this being that the other application this video is being used with is strictly Windows based and therefore does not support this QuickTime file format …

I have my wrapper background colour set with an opacity of 80% using this code
#wrapper { background: #ffffff; opacity: 0.8; filter:alpha(opacity=80); -moz-opacity:0.8; filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(Opacity=80); -khtml-opacity: 0.8; -ms-filter: “progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(Opacity=80)”; }
It works fine but everything inside of the wrapper is now set to 80% opacity. I have two divs .left and .right and everything including their backgrounds, images, text etc is set to 80% opacity. Is there a workround? something simple that I a missing? Any ideas much appreciated. Kevin

Hello guys, I've been working with webdesign for like 6 years and never seen something like this. I can't get my PNG image to be transparant! I've exported it on several settings in Photoshop but nothing seems to work. Does anyone has any idea on solving this? http://www.photoshop-leren.nl/ Thanks! Best, Saro

Aza Raskin, head of user experience at Mozilla’s Lab unit, revealed their new project, Tab Candy, today. He believes that it will shift the way we use, and think about browser tabs in future versions of Firefox. The goal of Tab Candy is to manage all of your tabs within one browser, rather than running multiple instances of Firefox to handle tab-group management. The basis for the system lies within the workspace of Tab Candy. Users can place tabs within groups that are represented as windows within Firefox. Groups can be opened at once, or the user can choose to …
