Hello Daniweb Community, I have recently been thinking about switching from a Wi-Fi connection to a direct connection over ethernet, however when I tried an ethernet connection from my router to my PS4, I calculated the average download speed after about 5 Wi-Fi connection tests and 5 ethernet connection tests and it averaged around the same. So there was no major difference, so what benefits would I have with a ethernet connection? I use my PS4 to listen to [Spotify](http://spotify.com) and sometimes it will drop or lag a bit, as well as when I have more than one person on …

I have search through the forum for some similar case of mine, such as http://www.daniweb.com/software-development/perl/threads/335711, http://www.daniweb.com/software-development/perl/threads/336421 and http://www.daniweb.com/software-development/perl/threads/311399 , I have tried to modified them according to my needs but somehow the final output is not right, so I decided to make a new thread. Hi Everyone, Thank you ahead of time for taking a look... Basically, the tables, rows, name and id tags below shown are pulled through by using PHP/cURL (code not shown for sake of realty). Generally, what I am looking to accomplish, is to use JavaScript to loop and parse through each of the two known values (also pulled through PHP/cURL) "dateset1" and "dateset2" input fields and then have the day span difference results show in "age" input field. Obviously, I can only retrieve the values and show results from the first instance because of not having a unique id or …

When creating a new project, I have a list of Frameworks to chose from. I need a Framework which will allow my program from Bin -> Debug -> Program.exe to work on various computers, such as Vista, Windows 7 & 8, and perhaps any others of the Windows family. I heard that Framework 2.0 will work on any Windows, but I was wondering what is the difference between the versions, and will lower version make the program work any worse or slower than using the latest Framework available?

Hi! This is my code to get the difference of two dates in Javascript. var today = new Date(); var dd = today.getDate(); var mm = today.getMonth()+1; //January is 0! var yyyy = today.getFullYear(); if (dd < 10) { dd='0'+dd } if (mm < 10) { mm='0'+mm } today = mm+'/'+dd+'/'+yyyy; var minutes = 1000*60; var hours = minutes*60; var days = hours*24; var foo_date1 = getDateFromFormat(today, "M/d/y"); var foo_date2 = getDateFromFormat("02/28/2015", "M/d/y"); var diff_date = Math.round((foo_date2 - foo_date1)/days); var ans = Math.abs(diff_date); alert(ans); This works fine in my localhost. Hi, I want to select all records from a table where the DateAdded field's date and time (Default value Timestamp field) is more than say 3 hrs ago. eg: something like SELECT tbldata.* FROM tbldata WHERE (tbldata.DateAdded <= now()-3); I can get it working with days difference but do not seem to be able to get the hours difference. If anyone can guide me along the right lines it would be appreciated. regards Steve

For any integer n > 1, if Al, A2, A3, ... , An, and B are any sets, then (A1 -B) (A2 -B) ... (An -B) = (Al A2 A3 … An) -B. I was able to prove for all sets A, B, and C, (A -B)(C -B)= (AC) - B, and for the above I know that's it's true based on the just mentioned proof but I am having a hard time actually proving it. What steps would I take? I am not looking for an answer just a push in the right direction. Thanks.

I am working on improving the visual appeal of table rows. The data in table rows is generated dynamically and has lots of information. There is a column in that table which gives the time when that particular information row was issued. On the basis of the days/months etc before which the information was issued, I have to color the different rows. It's exactly like as shown in the following link : http://www.nseindia.com/live_market/dynaContent/live_watch/equities_stock_watch.htm Moreover, the table rows must also have a small colored bar,the color of which will be determined by another field in the same row.I am wondering how …

I have a CRON job set to run every hour (have to do it this often due to scheduling facilities on server) and one of the sections of the script is to check if a closing date for entries into an event is within 2 days and if so to email a reminder for payment to those who have not yet paid. When I tested it it seemed to work but a closing date is tomorrow and the emails didn't go out yesterday. I am looking for suggestions on how I can get this to work. My current if statement …

Hey Guys, I am trying to figure out how Linux determines whether an object in directory is a file or folder. There's got to be a property (I am guessing in Stat) that Linux references from which lets it know quickly. It's hard to find information on google because when you enter a query like "how linux differentiates between file folder" you get a lot of tutorials on what physically makes them different which is annoying :P. Thanks!

But i wish someone in here could answer in more technical way.
