Trust me when I say no one is more excited about the coming tablets than I am but ebook readers are not going anywhere and here's why: 1. Ebook readers will soon average in the $200-$250 range about 1/4 the price of what tablets are about to price at. 2. Tablets will not use e-ink technology and reading books on a backlit device is not the same …

I agree, the deal sounds illogical on it's face, so there must be something else going on. But your idea doesn't seem to fit. One problem with your scenario is that Win7 won't run on the ARM processors that are standard in ebook readers like the Kindle. So, if they were switching to a Windows flavor, it would be Win CE. There were rumours of …

It depends upon how the access point / router is configured and how devices are connecting to it. From the speed mentioned, your A/P is an 802.11n device. It can also handle 802.11g and b (53mbps and 11mbps, or lower, depending upon device distrance from A/P-Router) devices. However, it will generally run at the speed of the slowest system …

IE, there is a wall plug in my office where the…

Two things: First, readers and students have vastly different methods of accessing content. Readers chew through it from upper left to lower right, rarely back-tracking or caring where are within the structure of the book. It's all about the story. News readers are even less focused: they're all about the article. Students, however, range all …

Whether a Apple eBook exists or not, Amazon Kindle, or Sony eBook, the important topic to discuss and determine is the access to the ebooks or similar content in general. The reason I hesitate to get a Kindle is due to the closed eco-system of the Kindle system, which makes Amazon the gatekeeper in that case. I rather my hardware is not so tied…
