Okay, I suspect this may be a marginal sort of post here, but maybe folks won't mind too much. A recent survey reckoned that, here in the UK at least, while 45 percent of the working population is female only 21 percent of the IT industry workforce can say the same. And this number seems to be falling, rather than increasing, year on year. Microsoft's patch-the-patch policy and practice has just rubbed a hole in their own breeches that they need to patch! First, the snafu over WGA (which supposedly just wants to make sure you have a legitimate copy of Windows before you are allowed to update or get other cool stuff for the OS).
