no, it is objQueue[0] that is null. When you initiate an Object[], each of the elements initially contain null. You still have to define the individual elements of the array.

Thanks a lot, declaring a new queue before moving them into the array fix the problem

this is a shot in the dark, but i am wondering what "declaring a new queue before moving them into the array" means code-wise... i am working on a similar project for seemingly the same class as this was for, and it would be nice to see this work... as is, it does not work.

Your question pertains to computer science in general more than it does to java, maybe you should try posting in that forum?

There is no main() method in the code. How could be executed as t also doesn't have any applet or frame used. Please recheck your code and re-submit.

Line 14, you initilise the **array** of ObjectQueue, but you have not instantiated the class object in the array. So each index in the array does not have an ObjectQueue object in it but null... You need to go through your array and instantiate each of the index. for (int i=0; i<objQueue.length; i++) { objQueue[i] = new ObjectQueue(); }

Why are you doing System type stuff using Java? It is not designed for it. If you want a command line command to get the "application" list that appears in TaskManager, then why are you asking in a Java forum? Ask in some Windows forum somewhere. Edit: And this is the JSP forum. What you have posted is not JSP, but rather Java (…
