Hi. I am familiar with the following C graphics libraries: Cairo, SDL, SDL2, and OpenGL. The problem I have found with these is that they either require shared libraries (Cairo/SDL/SDL2) or are difficult to make cross-platform (OpenGL). I am wondering if there are any graphics libraries for C that do not require the installation of any dll's or so's. Ideally I would want the library to be extremely light-weight and fast. I do not require 3D rendering capabilities, nor advanced windowing options. Does such a library exist?

I know that libraries contain functions for certian fields of work but what is a framework? Is it simply just a collection of libraries?

Hi, i'm programing in CodeBlocks (http://www.codeblocks.org/). I would like to add Dlib (http://dlib.net/) library to my project. How can I do this? I went to my project "Build options..."->"Search directories"->Compiler and added path to "dlib" folder. I did the same for "Linker" and "Resource compiler" (more info abaut adding libaries http://wiki.codeblocks.org/index.php?title=FAQ-Compiling_(general)) I copied code from this page http://dlib.net/image_ex.cpp.html and I got errors. After that I copied dlib folder inside project and now my proyect can find dlib library. :) But I still have some errors. C:\Projekti\SlikaCGIbin\main.cpp|68|undefined reference to `dlib::base_window::set_title(std::string const&)'| C:\Projekti\SlikaCGIbin\main.cpp|75|undefined reference to `dlib::base_window::wait_until_closed() const'| C:\Projekti\SlikaCGIbin\main.cpp|76|undefined reference to `dlib::base_window::wait_until_closed() const'| …

I am getting ready to write a programming competition on Tuesday (the Canadian Computing Competition) and I remember that last year it said that only standard libraries can be used. I was having trouble deciding which libraries are standard. I ended up using windows.h and when I suddenly realized that it was likely not standard I quickly commented-out a bunch of windows specific code. My question is, is there a list somewhere of all of the libraries considered as 'standard' in c++?

Hello , the problem is this, i need to install the XML-LibXML library and it seems to be easier to put salt in your eyes than to realize this. I get the error below which basically states that i cannot install the library because i don't have libxml2 installed. Of course libxml2 is installed(i downloaded the binaries and put the path to them in the PATH system variable) but it still doesn't seem to work. I also tried to set the LIBS and INC variable with the path to the libxml installation. It still doesn't work. In every case i …

I have been away from internet connection for awhile. Anyways, I am still having library issues using VBOs. Now the only warning that I am getting is [ICODE]undefined reference to 'XXX@Y'[/ICODE] Where XXX is either CreateFont, SelectObject, ChoosePixelFormat, SetPixelFormat, GetObject, DeleteObject, or SwapBuffers and Y is a line number. What is wrong with my library set up and how do I fix it?

Hi, I'm writing a program for structural engineers that consists of a number of inherited classes. Specifically, I have a main() file which includes a class element which includes a class node which includes a class matrix. element includes variables of type matrix and node, and node includes variables of type matrix. This is why I have written this in this way. I have a series of functions I want be able to perform on the variables of type matrix in the different classes as well as in main(). How can I define these functions so they can be used …

Hi, I am a rookie coder. My goal is to incorporate the magick++ features of reading and converting different image files to an existent project. So how do I go about this? Should I download the binary installer or the source files? And what to do after that? I am using Windows 7 Home Basic (64bit OS) and Visual C++ 2010. Could you please tell me how to go about this? I really appreciate this. Thanks, Tamoghna Roy.

Does anyone know of a tool, or any solution (preferably free), to automatically generate editable assembly dependency graphs (such as Visio diagrams)? I have found similar threads online, but the several tools recommended (.Net Reflector Graph add-in, Dependency Visualizer, GraphViz, etc) generate only image files (PNG, JPG, SVG, etc). The solution I need to reverse engineer is composed of over 75 projects, with hundreds of dlls. Even sub-system graphs are unintelligible, so we want to tweak / edit them, find common recurrences to isolate them into separate graphs, etc. We need something that can do the bulk brainless part for …

Hi, I'm a newbie to C++ so please be patient. I have to create program that outputs a simple moire pattern or a graph of y-values from a .csv file depending on which one is called. The code below is what I have before main and is where I am getting my errors,
#include <cstdlib> #include <iostream> #include "graphics.h" #include <math.h> #include <fstream> using namespace std; #define SCREENX 800 #define SCREENY 600 #define CENTERX 400 #define CENTERY 300 void moire() { initwindow(SCREENX,SCREENY); // Open the graphics window moveto(CENTERX,CENTERY); float step = M_PI/150; float rad; for (rad=0; rad<2*M_PI; rad+=step) { …

Hi Would anyone know if there is a book explaining all the various C++ Libraries and what features they encapsulate? I'm thinking in terms of, for example: iostream -- then a list of features and functions in iostream etc. Could anyone suggest any books or good reference material for this kind of thing? Thanks very much. danny2000

Hi, Does anyone know of a solid C# library / approach to manage a hierarchy/web type collection? This would be a library that would basic consist of the concept of nodes & relationships, for example to model web pages/files linked under a URL, or modeling IT infrastructure. It would have key methods such as: * Node.GetDirectParents() * Node.GetRootParents() * Node.GetDirectChildren() * Node.GetAllChildren() So it's smarts would include the ability to "walk the tree" of nodes based on the relationships when someone does ask for "give me all the children under this node" for example. It ideally include a persistence layer, …

Hello. Just asking any fellow nerds out there who program games with c++ or know about it..... about libraries. I know c++ and a few non standard libraries. What I want to know, is what non standard libraries or extras i could use with my compiler to make professional standard games. I already have art assets made with 3ds max, and this is just so i can make a game without an engine doing most of the work for me, to test myself as a programmer. all help will be appreciated!

I have been working with Monodevelop's C# on Linux. Pretty incredible. If you stick within the .net framework it seems to be really pretty complete. However, what if you wanted to call a native Linux function from a Linux library (eg using native Linux sockets instead of the .net provided sockets)? Any idea if that is possible? I spent my usual half a day doing google searches and came up with nothing.
