I have a late 2016 MacBook Pro running the latest version of OS X Sierra 10.12.6 Ever since I got it, I've been having a problem connecting it to external displays. Firstly, there is the 32" 4K Seiki Pro, connected via a USB-C cable. Most times when the Mac goes to sleep, the display does not come back until I put the computer back to sleep and wake it up, and *then* connect the cable when it's woken. Apple Support says this is a known bug but there is not currently a fix. Then there is the LG UltraFine 5K …

Hello, I have a Macbook Pro w/ Retina display (A1502), running Win 7 on bootcamp. I also have 2 [LG 25UM64](https://www.google.com/shopping/product/264296052983113163) monitors. The optimal resolution for these monitors is 2560x1080. However, so far as I can tell I can only hit this resolution if I'm connected through HDMI, for which the MBPro only has one port. The thunderbolt ports won't go past 1920x1080, and I tried an HDMI to USB adapter without any luck. I'm wondering if there's a way to get this second monitor to go to full resolution. Hoping someone knows how. Thanks! -EF

Hi, I'm running a mid/late 2007 Macbook Pro with Mavericks: [Click Here](http://everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/specs/macbook-pro-core-2-duo-2.4-15-santa-rosa-specs.html) When I connect a second display the cpu temp goes through the roof, 90C with the fans at max. When I disconnect the screen the temperature comes down. Temperature Monitor shows that it's the CPU's not the GPU that are getting hot. I've looked in Activity Monitor and there's nothing taking up a large amount of CPU that would seem to be causing this. I've cleaned out the Mac in the last 5 months so I doubt it's a dust build up problem. Any help would be greatly …

Hello After I could not boot my Macbook Pro (OS X Lion 10.7.5) I tried to run safe boot. I thought it worked, but only thing it did was booting the mac without any data i used to have. All the software is there. It's like a brand new mac with full applications. My storage seems as full as before so I know the data is somewhere inside my Macbook. How can I find them? (I'm still logged in as I always were and there seems to be no other accounts)

Hi everyone. I am trying to help a friend with her macbook which faces a mysterious problem. The macbook cannot access certain sites like facebook and pinterest when my friend uses her home wifi connection. The problem appears both on safari and chrome. When she came to my home using my wifi router both sites loaded perfectly so i assumed It was just a random problem. When she went back to hers, it happened again. Sometimes the browser will pop a certificate error message and oher times just a blank page not loading anything. The strange thing is that it …

I have a Seagate 500GB external hard drive that has been put in a new casing after some wires in the original came loose. I only got it back two days ago. So today I plugged it into my macbook and everything was fine, and then suddenly the warning/error window pops up saying that it's not been ejected safely. I hadn't touched the acutal hard drive or the wire or anything. I thought it might've overheated or something so I unplugged it, left it for a few minutes and then plugged it back in and nothing happened. The light on …

Hi there, I am having quite an upsetting problem with a new monitor I have bought and wonder if anyone can help me out. I do graphics work and so I needed to purchase a larger monitor because I was killing my eyes on the 13inch new MacBook screen. I needed something affordable and so did some research and stumbled upon the BenQ2220HD monitor. Very good reviews, reliable brand, etc. Somehow it didn't come with a DVI-D cable so had to purchase it. Purchased a 5m cable, thought this was the norm and plugged it in. The monitor was going …

Hello Mac users, I'm trying to hook up my husbands dell printer with my mac. We have two printers in our office and it's crowded. I wanted to get rid of my hp printer, the two printers are about the same. I can't figure out this printer driver thing. I know Dell printers are Lexmark. I tried to find out which Lexmark is the same as the Dell 926, but nothings working. I tired the Linux website and GimpPrint. If anyone knows anything else I can try, please let me know. Thanks!

Hi Guys, I wanted to get some feedback on what the community thought about this: I am a web developer who needs something that is portable, and powerful. The air seems to be perfect for what I need. However, all the people I have talked to has said go with the pro. What are the pros and cons to the mac book air, vs the mac book pro. I am not a gamer, nor do I want to be... I am a hard core php developer who wants fast web dev tools. So what is the verdict? :)

I'm at a loss. I have a Windows network (4 PC's plus 3 Macs). My Windows PCs all see each other and the Macs and successfully connect. One of my MBP (13") sees all Windows PCs and Macs. The other MBP (17") sees all but ONE of the Windows PCs (and the one it won't connect to is the only one that is critical -- of course). I get the error "Connection Failed: The server "name" may not exist or it is unavailable..." I have tried everything I've found on the 'net as far as troubleshooting. All the settings on …

Who needs the Wiimote? ...when there's laptops. But, you say, you can't wave laptops around to control your videogame! Actually you can. Many laptops manufactured now come with motion sensors to suddenly freeze the hard disk when it gets bumped around. These sensors can be read by software, which you can use to control software such as computer games running on the laptop. Sorry, Macs only. Motion sensing laptops are nothing new. Apple's patented Sudden Motion Sensor technology has been inside PowerBooks since 2005, and is now standard in all of their new laptops. IBM had this technology even earlier, …
