I recently had to reset my router due to some malware issues, and upon completing a full reset I found that my computer would not connect the router. I then proceeded to check all of my settings: such as SSID, WEP key, and user settings in the actual router. The only problem I found is that all of the available channels are disabled, and the option to enable a channel was greyed out so that I can not enable a channel. I do not what type of router I have, as there are no distinguishing markings on it; however it …

Hello, I'll try to explain my problem as good as possible because English is not my mothertong at all... So here is the stuff... I've a DSL connection with a modem and a routeur separate. Untill Saturday, everything worked perfectly but sunddenly something went wrong. I couldn't have any connection at all. I contacted my ISP but everything was ok for them. I then tried to connect my computer directly to the modem and oh suprise! Internet worked perfectly. I thought then that the problem came from the router. As it was a bit old, i supposed that it was …

I have a Verizon FiOS router. I need to be able to forward port 5900 (VNC) to a specific machine, is there any way to do this over SSH? I can't just use Lynx because the router config page uses JavaScript for everything. Is there any way I can forward this port? Is there a way to tell the router to forward it without using the config page? I know it's possible because Skype does it.

I'm installing this wireless access point (router Linksys WRT54GS) and everything seems to be working fine, and it connects to the router via wireless network adapter. On the network connections page, it shows that the Computer connection to the router is excellent, But the router connection to the internet is inactive. I've tried resetting both adapters, I've tried power cycling, i've tried the ipconfig/release/renew quite a few times for this, But still, no solid connection to the internet, And i am sure the internet is active. Now when i run ipconfig/all , This is what i get.. We have an IIS server serving a couple of asp based sites to the internet while still connected to our network and VPN. The server has 2 NICs and static routes set up to keep traffic straight. Problem is that since the static routing was activated about 2-3 times a day the sever becomes unreachable from the internet. Resetting the router fixes this but is only reactive. I did a little sniffing and the ONLY http traffic I see when the server is 'not connected' is a "GET /http 1.1 request" from the server and an "Authorization Required" response from …

Computerworld is reporting the possibility of a worm or bot in the wild that is specifically targeting D-Link branded routers. It refers to a three year old vulnerability which Symantec security researchers believe is being exploited by a new exploit. Apparently, the Symantec security response team has seen an increase in attack activity as it relates to D-Link devices. Oliver Friedrichs, director of the Symantec security response team, is quoted as saying that it looks like hackers are "exploiting the SNMP vulnerability to reset and reconfigure the administrative password on the routers" after scanning TCP port 23 for an active …
