Greetings to the Community, I need some assistance with a MySQL query that is running very slow. I must admit that I am not a MySQL expert and I wrote this query with hints from several postings on Daniweb, so I'm looking for some hints to speed it up. Here's the query: [CODE] SELECT app_questions.quest_id, app_questions.app_question, app_questions.quest_type, app_questions.box_type, app_questions.quest_exception, MAX( CASE WHEN app_answers.chap_id = '357277' AND app_answers.current_yr = '2012' THEN app_answers.quest_answer END ) AS '2012', MAX( CASE WHEN app_answers.chap_id = '357277' AND app_answers.current_yr = '2011' THEN app_answers.quest_answer END ) AS '2011', MAX( CASE WHEN app_answers.chap_id = '357277' AND app_answers.current_yr = …

Hello - I have a client that is using a VPS from Host Gator. He he also running an application I created on his VPS. The other day he complained his server was very slow when using my software. I checked it myself and it took approximately 5 seconds to load anything from within the software I had built; even something as simple as displaying a small HTML page. To make a long story short, I found the problem to be caused by linking to a missing JavaScript file in my header file. The JavaScript file I was trying to …

I have a Toshiba Satellite X205-SLi2 with Vista Home Premium. Ya, I know. I should be shot for it. I tried to put XP pro on it and finally took it in and they said Toshiba didn't write some dll that can run XP Pro on this laptop. Gates is forcing us into 7? Considering he wants lots of people dead (check YouTube for "Bill Gates EXPOSED! Wants Major Depopulation Through Vaccine") I wouldn't be surprised. Anyway, I have, among other problems, a slow mouse. It is the one thing that drives me nuts. I speeded it up in the …

Hi, I have been on this forum for quite a time, but I had stopped visting daniweb for sometime due to exams, etc. Now I am back to see the superfast dani superslow and giving weird looks on Firefox 3.6.3/Linux. Please do look into this. I am on a 128 kbit/s connection, quite slow IMO, but the same dani used to be a pleasure to browse previously.

Hi, several applications use as much as CPU as they can while starting up. This takes one and sometimes several minutes. I'm using WinXpPro SP3. I suspect it is the registry or a service that is not started but should or maybe a replaced driver/DLL. It happens with and without firewall and AV and even in safe mode. It happens to browsers, explorer.exe, and others. Not sure what the correlation is. Once started the program is as quick as ever. Please shine a light on this. Since I don't know what info you desire I'll wait on your request. Obliged …

I have been having problems with my computer freezing up. It usually happens about 1 minute after turning on the computer....it doesn't matter where it's at in the loading process. It can happen before or after Windows has started. A little about the computer....it is a PENTIUM 4 2.4GHz system. ECSP4VXASD2 Deluxe motherboard. It has Window XP, an Nvidia GeForce graphics card (it's not the original...I have replaced it) and I just replaced the 512 mb ddr memory with 2 gb, thinking that was the problem and it's still freezing. It also has a fairly new hard drive in it …
