Why the error still appears?

A Google official has announced this morning that the search giant is back in action in China. Google, the second most popular search engine in China, behind Baidu, announced in January of this year that it would no longer censor its search results on the Chinese version of its website, against the wishes of the Chinese government. As a result, Google's stock price plummeted while Baidu's stock price saw all time highs, surpassing Google on the stock market. A couple months later, Google began redirecting users accessing the google.cn version of Google to the uncensored Hong Kong version. Unfortunately, Chinese …

Hi I found this piece in another "solved" threat. The person that wrote this however had a different problem with it. I changed the bar size value from 12 to 6500. For me this works but has a major flaw : When : lengths to cut < size of a bar then : no new bar is created and the cycle is finished. for example : if i have 7x1000 to cut it will show : bar 1 : 1000 1000 1000 1000 1000 1000 ... not making a second bar for the last 1000. I'm looking at this for …

I was planning on writing code that would get stock data from the exchange and store it for use and analysis later. I'm new to programming and Python so I don't really know where to get started. Are there functions, modules, or techniques I should be aware of? So far I'm only familiar with conditional programming, defining functions/objects, recursive loops, working with strings, reading from and writing to text files, etc. Just the basics really. What else would I have to learn to get started on a project like this? All help is appreciated. Thanks! -- ThisIsNotAnId.

Intel announced on Thursday their agreement to purchase all of McAfee’s common stocks at $48 a share, a deal approximately worth $7.68 billion. McAfee will act as a wholly-owned subsidiary and report to Intel’s Software and Services Group. The endeavor marks what is sure to be a harmonious relationship for two of the world’s leading hardware and software companies at a time when mobile markets are booming, a sector which remains untapped from a securities standpoint. "Our view is that everywhere we sell a microprocessor, there is an opportunity to sell security software with it," said Paul Otellini, Intel president …

The Times reported that the 3-year-old company has been in talks recently to begin a public stock offering potentially later this year. So far in the site's short existence, it has struggled to turn a major profit. Last year the company reportedly brought in $100 million. There has been a lot of chatter this week about the health of Steve Jobs. On one level, it's a perfectly understandable discussion. Jobs is a public figure and as such what happens to him--good or bad--interests us. But a friend of mine suggested that any discussion of Jobs' health was crossing the line into gossip. He was not alone as comments in the many blog posts in the aftermath of this week's announcement attest. I maintain that there is room for serious and meaningful discussion about this, and that because Jobs is who he is, we should be talking …

I was carrying around the headline of this post all day yesterday since I saw a Guardian article yesterday morning with the text of a letter Steve Jobs wrote to the Apple community. Jobs explained that he felt compelled to let everyone know that he was sick, but he was not dying and he would continue to be CEO at Apple for the foreseeable future. Seems he has a hormone imbalance that lead to his severe weight loss, the condition is being treated, and we don't have to worry about it anymore. And he let it be known that was …

Rumors are flying this week ahead of Apple's big Mac Book event on Tuesday that it will announce the long rumored sub-$1000 notebook. In fact, my friends at The Unofficial Apple Weblog are reporting that someone has gotten their hands on a price sheet ahead of the announcement suggesting that there will be an $800 Mac Book. If it's true, and nothing is official yet--Apple tends to be tight-lipped about announcements, as you are no doubt aware--it comes at perfect time as consumers are hungry for lower prices. Lots to talk about today. You've probably already have read about Microsoft's $45 billion buyout of Yahoo. Obviously, Microsoft is giving up on its MSN web portal and throwing it's weight and capital behind Yahoo. For Yahoo, which has seen its stock slide precipitously in the last year, the deep pockets of Microsoft are a welcome balm or a company which took on Google in the mega-billion search engine wars and basically got its head handed to it. The upside is huge. Google, the leader in the market for Internet search services and advertising, estimates that the market for Web …

Just checking out some of the stock prices of the big online retailers after Black Monday – the biggest online shopping day of the year. eBay was up 3.45% in Monday trading while Amazon was up 3.0% -- both prices indicative of the bullish sentiment investors are showing on online retail companies this holiday season. I discussed eBay in the last few blogs so let’s let Amazon take a turn. After hitting a one-year high of $101.09 in October, the stock hit the skids in November, sliding back to the low $80’s range. That number should pick up again throughout …

Apple to iPhone Customers: “Mea Culpa” With Apple in the headlines all week from its iPhone pricing debacle, I’ve kept a close eye on the company’s stock price. One rule of thumb on Wall Street is that if your company find itself in the news for negative reasons, take control of the issue and engineer some new headlines, preferably the kind that will minimize any damage to the company’s stock price. That’s what Apple tried to do when it’s new iPhone price-cutting strategy blew up in its face. Price-cutting is a real departure for Apple. The company is famous for …
