Hardware and Software Information Security by DMR [QUOTE] When I rebooted I first noticed the date was set back all the way to 2004... strange that freezes would occur before Windows even started loading, and also as it was loading. I'm assuming nothing looked suspicious in the log then. Well the CMOS battery is cheap, so one thing to knock out of the way. I'm just wondering what is causing the weird program behavior. How would a failed battery cause my computer to reboot when I open a program? Re: Help on random freezing and strange program behavior! Hardware and Software Information Security by DMR 1. I don't see anything suspicious in the HJT log. However, HJT isn't meant to be used for diagnosing program crashes in general, so it's quite possible that you do have a legit problem somewhere. Open the Event Viewer utility in your Administrative Tools control panel. In the Event Viewer, look through the System and Application logs … Re: Computer freezes! Possible hardware problem? Hardware and Software Microsoft Windows by garg I don't know if your dll file errors and the freezing is related or not. Does your bios have a processor temperature reading? It seems like your computer might be over heating. Check to see if your processor fan is still working. Also the 2004 date is strange. See if your motherboard battery is in properly. the round silver disk type battery.… Re: Computer freezes! Possible hardware problem? Hardware and Software Microsoft Windows by Strider Yeah I thought that was the problem at first, but I'm almost sure its not. I checked all my case and processor fans, and all are running fine. I set my BIOS settings to shut down in the event that the CPU gets too hot, but I've also been keeping a close eye on the temp too, which usually never goes above 55 C. I did replace the CMOS battery on … Re: Computer freezes! Possible hardware problem? Hardware and Software Microsoft Windows by dvr if you have extra ram around change it out or ask a friend if they have some you could try or even try a new processor. Re: Files won't move or delete! Hardware and Software Hardware by Strider Well its not that I really want to delete the files (mp3s), but Pocket Killbox works fine for me when the files do get messed up. This doesn't happen on any other partitoned drive on the same hard drive. Something happens when I move the mp3s somewhere else on that same drive. They then won't delete by normal methods, and won't even play. I ran… Re: Files won't move or delete!
