Yet another example of taking a simple concept (black hat vs white hat from old cowboy flicks) and diluting it until nobody can make sense of it anymore. Just like the myriad different coloured wrist bands and ribbons. What's next? Purple hat? Green Hat?

Blue hat SEO refers to aggressive or unconventional SEO techniques that push the boundaries of search engine guidelines. It often involves using tactics that may be seen as manipulative or unethical to quickly achieve higher rankings. These strategies can carry risks of penalties from search engines and may not provide sustainable long-term results…

I have been in the industry for a very long time, and have never heard of it. There’s white hat, of course. Black hat. And then there’s grey hat, where you’re being creative with white hat techniques designed specifically to focus on short term gains.

It's a black hat SEO technique, it's just increase ranking, indeed for a very short period of time and help your pages get indexed faster. But you should avoid it, cause it will ultimately penalize your site....

I take security and privacy issues seriously, but sometimes I despair when news stories such as that regarding Samsung TVs eavesdropping on private conversation explode across the media as happened last week. The reason for my despondency has less to do with the data privacy debate and more to do with the human stupidity one. That said, let's get …

You need to re-calibrate your tinfoil hat. I don't demand much in this world, but I do demand consistency. For the record, I LOVE discussing nefarious plots, conspiracies, and "what if" doom and gloom tinfoil hat achieve-world-domination-through-fonts theories. Some people would write you off as a lunatic for worrying about people …

Well, that's not what I meant. Okay, another way: "I'm talking more about the darkest real possibilities that Google would try to use, without possible knowing of outside world.". What realistic crazyness could they obtain **legally**. I know they can run all types of code. But that's obvious and they wouldn't do that. On top of it…

For what it's worth, I thought that this had the makings of a really interesting thread. Let's face it, the root post was not overly serious in construction or intent (based upon it starting with a tinfoil hat wearing declaration) nor was it precise in what it expected the anwers to be. In other words it was loosely constructed enough for the …

I wanted to offer my thanks to the thread and log my configuration so future web-searchers will be able to find it in their searches. Your problem is the subtraction of y. It doesn't do anything. The point about recussion is that in a default case you return a value e.g. [icode]if (y==1) return x;[/icode] but in more general cases you return a simpler function .e.g [icode] if (y>1) return add(x,y-1);[/icode] However, once you get that to work for postive x and y, …
