At http://www.conservancyonmayne.com/camas_10th.php I have a left sidebar with info on the 10th Anniversary Dance and the main part of the page describes the fund the party was slated to raise money for. The affair happened last night & was quite successful by the way! I have many people to thank for this - way too many for a static sidebar and I would like to put it all in a sidebar that scrolls up and loops back to the beginning when done - rather like the the effect of the MARQUEE tag, but vertically with all the lines of horizontal …

Hello! When I power on my laptop (Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pa) the screen turns grey and after a couple of seconds vertical lines of random color start to appear all over the screen. They change their color constantly. External monitor works just fine (through VGA connection). I disassembled the laptop and checked the data cable that connects LCD and motherboard. I checked every single wire in the cable (rungup with my multimeter) and the cable is absolutely fine (I made a simple pinout schematics). Cable has a sticker: PTT50 LCD CABLE ONE, P/N: 22-12-023-70, CNJS: 2008 (some chinese? characters). Photo …

We have all been there, you have a centered site and some pages have enough content to fill the screen while some don't. So when you move back and forth between one that does and one that doesn't you see a small jump happen. Here is a small css fix to force the vertical scrollbar to always be visible. The site i got the original snippet from claims it doesn't work in opera but it worked for me in all browsers. What i changed is since "overflow-y" isn't valid css i started with the valid "overflow" to enable both the …

Hi All, I have lately encountered quite a few problems with the problem I'm about to describe. I think it would be good for all of us to know the solutions if anytime we encounter this problem. I know my content is larger than the screen and I have a vertical scrollbar. However, the problem is that the vertical scrollbar is not displayed well in the browser. In fact, I can only see the top part of the scrollbar and not the bottom and the scrollbar sort of looks disabled, therefore I cannot actually scroll my content neither can I …

Have a look at this HTML code. In IE7 it displays two rows of a table-like form, much the same as in Firefox 3.x, 4 and Chrome. Now uncomment the [ICODE]"<!--div>abc</div-->"[/ICODE] and look again. Now the row spacing has become much larger, about 1em. I don't have a clue where this comes from and how I could possibly avoid it. I need the <div> above the table to display some text. The effect stays the same if you replace the <div> by a <p>.
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"><head> <title></title> <meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html; …
