Hello, I have what seems to be a very common problem but after doing much research and trying to fix myself, I am unable to resolve the issue. I receive the following error when compiling my win32, directx 9 program: e:\...\game.cpp(228) : fatal error C1004: unexpected end-of-file found I receive this error and a bunch of preceding syntax errors. This occurs in three different files within my project...I'm using visual c++ 2008 express and DirectX SDK 2010(june)...shouldn't matter... Here is the code from game.cpp: [CODE]#include "Game.h" #include "Entity.h" #include "dxManager.h" #include "diManager.h" /* Init the one and only ProjectManager */ …

Hi everyone just started Daniweb! I have been using devcpp for some time.I am trying to make a switch from DevCpp to Visual Studio but find the latter confusing having so many options. Recently, I did a console application that will accept a word from user and prints its anagrams. The code compiled and ran successfully. But when I try to compile the same code using Visual studio the program gives wrong output. The code is given below [CODE] //Data Structure Class Assignment //Anagrams Program //Accepts a word and prints its anagrams. #include<fstream> #include <string.h> #include<iostream> //for sorting characters in …

Hi, I am a rookie coder. My goal is to incorporate the magick++ features of reading and converting different image files to an existent project. So how do I go about this? Should I download the binary installer or the source files? And what to do after that? I am using Windows 7 Home Basic (64bit OS) and Visual C++ 2010. Could you please tell me how to go about this? I really appreciate this. Thanks, Tamoghna Roy.

Hey daniweb forums, Okay so my question is, what is the difference between VC++ (visual C++) and C++ with any other IDE (or none at all). I know for a fact that VC++ is an IDE but according to some people that I have met. They say, stay away from .net framework. My questions are. Why use Visual C++? If using VC++ can we avoid .net ? Why do people say stay away from .net? Thanks :)

Hello, I am new to C++ windows programming and have only taken 1 class in c++ in my life (I have experience with other languages and OOP). I'm using Visual C++ 2008. and my project is created by the wizard for a Windows Forms Application. (I'm guessing this means CLI or whatever that is) I am trying to make a program that has a small text "database" that reads in to a 2 dimensional [100][2] array. the data reads in and also outputs as it should. Eventually, the program ends (seems like after only 30 'events' on the form). the …

Well, I know that for this I need a graphic library but which one do you recommend? I'm working on Windows, with VISUAL C++, and I know I can use windows libraries, or something, but there are a few problems with that (Mainly that I don't wanna use them). Also, I would like to be able to port my project to Linux, once it's finished. Something that I see really hard, if I start using "windows.h". This is the code I'm working on Right now: [CODE]#include <iostream> #include <stdio.h> #include "cv.h" #include "highgui.h" int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[]) { [COLOR="green"]/* …

Well, i'm really new to this programming thing, but i don't have a teacher or anything like that, i'm an autodidact so I really have a lot of questions on this matter. I'm trying to do a project using Augmented Reality. As far as I know, there are two main compilers(?) for this: ARToolkit and Opencv. I've tried to Link both of them on Visual studio and Code::Blocks with no succes. Does anyone knows how to do this. P.D. Seems like code::blocks gets to Identify the headers, but not the commands:

Beforehand I know how to define a macro in a file like header file by using #define directive but I want to know, regarding Visual C++ compiler, is there any kind of file which is specifically used to hold a macro so that we can use it anywhere in our code we need by some directive which takes name of that file as input?

considering visual C++ compiler, Lets say I've got a file with whatever extension and it contains 100 bytes of data which are exactly the data that I want to initialize an array of char data type with a length of 100 characters with, Now apparently one way is to read those data out of file by using I/O file classes or APIs at run-time but what I want to know is that, is there any way using directives or something to tell the compiler I want to put that data in a right place in my application image files at …

Well, first of all i already know some things about c++ programming, but i'm really aiming to video game programming. Until today, i used to compile my codes on WxDevC++, but isn't really that good, and people keeps telling me that Microsoft visual studio is good for game developing. But also I've heard that MVS is really crap so i'd like to know your opinion. Thanks

Hey, I've been going through some directx tutorials, but for some reason I can't get my program to work with .fx files. It complains that the file cannot be found, even that it's in the same directory and I'm sure that I'm using it correctly.
