100% way to remove My Way Search Assistant

Ok guys, I've searched and searched, and found a full proof way to remove the stubborn MWSA from the A/R list which untill now could not be removed. If this specific method has been explained before, I'm sorry, but I just got it to work for me and thought it would help other people.

Go to: Start
Click on: Run
Copy and Paste: msiexec.exe /x{78d944d7-a97b-4004-ab0a-b5ad06839940}

Hit enter, click yes if it prompts, and boom, your done! That easy, no HJT, or adware removal bs.

I have been trying and searching for many hours for a way to remove this damn thing....THANK YOU SO MUCH!! WORKED LIKE A CHARM

SWEET, BAM !! kicked the little monkey right out of there. Worked Perfectly, and no cooties, or residuals left in thr registry as well. It is the neatest trick since, hitting Ctrl + F11, at the blue Dell stripe, during a restart to bring up the Full Factory Restore Utility ghost image, that is hidden in a little seperate sector of the HD, before the boot file. I really like to learn something new every day :^) There is an Ad Aware method out there, but it does NOT work, if you have already attempted to remove it with the A & R utility. If you have not attempted the A & R first, the Ad Aware method will work, but the little string at the run prompt is easier, and more fun as you get to kill it yourself. Freddy The Breeze

I tried to use your remover on myway sadly it did not work. I got a message saying only works on installed programs. My spyware program found it when it did a scan. Did I do something incorrectly? I did the cut and paste. Computer is newer (Dec o5) Has myway changed how it sticks in the computer? Thanks for any assistance.

I have been searching for hours on how to remove this little piece of shit and nothing else worked, but this did -- nice to see we have some knowledgeable people still online. :mrgreen:

Oh yeah, and Dell really deserves to be kicked in the head for installing crap like this. I really think a class action lawsuit against them is in order. Its one thing to install this stuff and disclose it buried in an EULA somewhere, but its quite another to go through what they have done to make it so hard to remove. Clearly shows the intent.

I decided a long time ago this will be my first, my last and my only purchase from Dell. Finding this little scam is reason 1,986,435,265,985 of why I'll never buy another Dell as long as I live.

I tried this and it seemed like it took it off so I checked in Add/Remove Programs and it was still there. I tried to remove from there but I keep getting this message:

Error Loading C:\PROGRA~1\MywaySA\SrchAsDe\1.bin\desrcas.dll
The specified module could not be found
My VIRUS SCAN keeps catching a WIN32:TratGHO[... Trojan Horse

I want to thank you for help removing that crappy search thing and to think i paid for registry mechanic that could not do it. Does anyone know if that thing actually does any good? I guess it is true, the best things in life are freee.

RegistryMechanic isnt that good... I just use CCleaner and ATF cleaner every once in a while.
