I have tried putting the Windows ME disk in and booting the computer from it. After I followed the steps on the screen and my computer was done. It didn't reformat. All it did was reinstall windows me. Can anyone help. I don't want to keep anything thats on my computer right now. I just want to have my computer back the way it was when I purchased it.

i can suggest you to download ultimate boot cd:

boot from it, format the whole system and then boot from windows ME installation CD and install windows.

When I boot from a boot disk will I have to reinstall all my drivers? I have never reformated this way before.

So I was able to reformat, and now have Windows ME reinstalled. The problem is that my color is all messed up (very pixel) Does anyone have an idea as to why and how can I fix it? Thanks in advance

Hi there

When reinstalling Win ME .... the installation will install the basic VGA drivers. If you have a VGA (Display card) that does not form part of your motherboard then you need to install the Display Drivers for that card. If your Display or Monitor plugs directly into you motherboard then find your disk that came with your motherboard and update the display drivers. If you do not have a disk check very very carefully on the motherboard for some sort of number that is not a sticker and it it burned into the motherboard. Do a google search on this number and find the correct Display drivers for this board download them and update your display.

Hope this helps
