i'm having difficulty achieving this. any help would be appreciated. i would like the div content1 and content2 to fill up the remaining space vertically in a window with a set minimum height. it needs to adjust automatically with window resize. many thanks!

i dunno the only thing i saw was you are missing a height: 100%; in your content2 css

I don't think that it would be perfectly possible in <div>, although by using css intelligently, this objective can be achieved up to some extent. I suggest you to create that section in <table> and doing this would be just a piece of cake.
