I’m dealing with a small SSD, and a 1 terabyte HDD. My issue is half the programs you install these days don’t even bother asking you where you’d like to install. About 90% of them I’m fine having on the HDD. What on earth - if anything - can I do to move an entitled, SSD-privileged program to my HDD and how do I repair the ensuing errors it makes? |

Can anyone recommend a free flv to avi converter? There is a lot of free software out there so I have choices but can anyone recommend one that is free of trojans, viruses, malware, etc.? I've already got the DivX codec and converter but the DivX converter will not do flv. |

So I have this 1TB external hard drive that I use for my games. It was working fine uptill about a week ago. I opened my laptop like normal, it did its startup stuff and everything was looking good untill I went to play DOOM Eternal. An error poped up saying something like the .exe file could not be found. I looked into it and saw that my hard-drive wasn't showing up under the "This PC" tab in file explorer. I go to devices and it shows up there, but isn't being read as a storage device. And if there … |

Ok this is a weird one and its been ongoing for many months, wondering if anyone has any ideas. We have 10-15 office 365 exchange email accounts and they all work perfectly fine apart from one account on one device. This particular account has intermittent issues with sending and emails just sit in the outbox. Some emails send up until a point and then it randomly stops. The machine has to be restarted and then they send immediatly upon opening outlook. The same email account is also being used on other laptops a mac and an iphone which are NOT … |

Ok. This might be a little long winded but i will try to give as much information as possilbe. I started with Office 2003 and then tried the 2007 Student trial version. When it expired I could not get it to uninstall so I dealt with the annoying problem until my university got the Office Pro Plus 2007 Win 32 version for us students and installed it thinking it would fix the problem. It didn't. So I uninstalled 2007 and 2003, then used a registry cleaner to get rid of all of the old office entries that were dead and … |

Rename any folder with extension {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} e.g., if we have a folder games press F2, then type, "games.{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}" see the magic.... then to get to original form, remove the extension using "ren games.{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} games" in dos or as a bat file and you are done.. But the folder can be deleted. ~cheers~ :) |

So apparently Microsoft Word’s latest release shows a grammar error if you do two spaces after a period, this ending the debate of which is correct. I used to do two spaces after a period back on my old Apple IIGS with its mono spaces font. However, I’ve always said that since the world of kerning has existed in word processor apps, just add a single space and the software will give it the proper amount of spacing after a period before the next sentence begins. |

In an earlier Discussion post, I complained about MS changing my preference settings with each update. Since, I have found many more changes. One was, I had gone to CMD Properties and set CMD to always open with elevated privileges. You guesses it. It was switched back. With the 1909 Cumulative Update we lost our ability to search within folders. After trying eleven 'fixes' touted on the Internet, I had to uninstall these latest updates to get my search option back. I do wish MS would spend more time correcting errors such as this rather than on inventing witty and … |

What with limited formal education and an IQ score only moderately above average, I have no trouble discerning the manipulative tactics of Microsoft. Their kindergarten psychology used to keep you attached to, and dependent upon, their proprietary products is less than amusing. This tit for tat, childish approach Of MS at keeping you 100% 'in the fold' is becoming quite tiresome, to say the least. My issue today is file type association. As far back as XP (and possibly before) file type associations were set in the Control Panel. Once set with your preferences, they had a tendency to stay … |

Here's something I've wondered about for years and never got around to asking. A recent example: I reinstalled Win 10. I transfered all data from Windows old to the new OS. When I highlight the Windows Old folder, it says it is empty. but when I start to delete the folder, the progression bar shows several hundred files being deleted. If the folder is empty, where do these figures come from? Thanks |
