Hi everyone,
Very frustrating for me since I use Norton, I keep my system updated from Microsoft, and I have both AdAware and Malwarebytes on my system, I don't fileshare or go to gaming sites. My IE is now unusable. It immediately gives me popups or shuts it down without letting me go anywhere, warning me about some fake Privacy Threat, etc. I had to download HijackThis to a flashdrive on another computer to run it. Is it possible to download Malwarebytes to the flashdrive and just run it to clear this up?
I followed the instructions in the permanent threads regarding temp files, prefetch, etc. and here is the log:

Thanks for all you folks do here. I truly appreciate it!
Paul

Is it possible to download Malwarebytes to the flashdrive and just run it to clear this up?

Hi Paul,

That would be a good first step - Transfer MBAM from the flash drive to the ill compy and give it a go.
Have MBAM fix what it finds and then REBOOT.

Post the log and we'll go from there.

Cheers :)
PP

Some says that Windows System Restore can reolved the problems. I never tried it though. What I did was download an anti-malware program, install and update it. Afterwards, I rebooted my computer in SafeMode and performed a complete scan. It caught a bunch of files and virus. After a reset it was gone. See the solution here.

But I've posted the logfile below just in case:

I think I'll just keep that flashdrive handy. Thanks!

Some says that Windows System Restore can reolved the problems.

That is not the best course of actions in these cases.

The "solution" that you linked advises the use of MBAM - That is the best way to start to attack these malware.

@ Paul

Can you give us a status update? Post the MBAM log?
