hello

I am a BE computer student and needed information for my BE project.
The project is as follows
We are developing a web application for a company. This involves setting up a wi-fi hotpot for the company. So whenever a user enters the wi-fi area , he should be taken to the companies homepage or homepage of our web application irrespective of the webpage typed in his browser. After the 1st page is displayed, the user should be taken thru a series of more pages without allowing him to access the internet. Once he has seen all these mandatory pages he should be allowed internet access.

So i wanted to know about how to redirect the user to our web application homepage and not allow him to visit any other website unless he sees all the mandatory pages.

I thought of disabling the address bar until he sees all the web pages but i dont know how to do it ,

I am using the following

Apache 2.2.8
Tomcat 5
jdk1.5
Windows XP sp2

I hav connected Apache and Tomcat.

Plz Help!

Regards

Hanish

no, we're not going to help you write a browser hijacker. What you're trying to do is unethical at least, and quite likely illegal.

ok ... is there any other way to do the same .... its a web application for a companies wifi network .... so the company wants us to allow the clients to view mandatorily the company pages first . After the mandatory pages have been seen then the clients can use the internet.

Please Help ... it is very urgent

Hanish

it's not urgent.

Maybe the company should hire a decent Windows system/network administrator who knows how to force a homepage on browsers and prevent users from changing it.
They could finance that using the money they save by firing you for incompetence.

You say you're doing it for a company. That makes you a professional. That makes it so that you have to take responsibility for your work, if you can't do it you have to tell your boss so he can cut his losses and get someone who CAN do it.

Hi
are u doing it for academic purpose or for any company.
It seems u r doing for academic purpose.

Your client will be connected to internet through companies server. it will not be connected directly i guess. this makes u'r job easy. u can at server side do something to achieve u'r goal.
