Guest posting / blogging on highly-ranked sites is the best way to go about this. I've had limited success with directories and forums, even with those that are not do-follow. If anybody is looking to post do-follow links, I welcome (relavent!) posts on my health and wellness forum. Finally, creating and promoting a RSS feed (and syndicating it) will really help.
