I use filezilla. I have the html I need for my website, but it is saved in a microsoft word document. Can I just drag and drop the microsoft document to get the coding or do I have to do something else?

Filezilla is an ftp program - Word is a word processing / print program. Word, like all MS products, uses its own code and isn't very web friendly. Save yourself a million headaches and start with a real html program instead of trying to "get there from here" using Word.
