i came across this website http://www.goal.com/en-gb/ and i noticed the jcarousel on the side of the page . I would like to know how this was done . I know its jcarousel but this seems a little more complex

Not complex at all. It is a plugin they use on the site. This plugin script is freely available to install on sites to display a photo slide show like that.
