this is very odd, this problem started showing up lately and now happens alot

when I plug in my headphones, or touch them my pc shuts off on me.

what is going on?
I have a 520watt Ps thats more then enough power.
could it be static electicity that is making my pc shut off due to overvoltage protection?

Are you plugged into a grounded outlet, or did you pop the 3rd prong out?

That sounds to me like there's some kind of grounding issue....

is it jsut with the headphones?? it could also be a loose power connector, and everytime you touch it you knock it abit? but if i were you i'd check the cabelling

also don't mean so sound like a moaning old so and so but

"You say you want to see power?"
Then look at my avatar

^^ i laugh at this seeing as there isn't a performance gain out of 64bit CPU's yet, and i bet my quad Xeon server at work pwned it :D Also you'll find that a 3gig p4 will own it if you do a few bench marks
