I have the AMD Athlon K100MNR53B. Forgotten how to remove it. Looking for pictoral guidance. Much thanks for any assistance.

I think its the ZIF type, if I remember rightly, you need to unlatch (push sideways, generally towards the socket) then pull up (so its vertical) the silver lever at the (usually right hand) side of the socket. This will push the CPU a little out of the slot, allowing you to remove it.

This assumes you removed the heatsink and fan first and followed the usual precautions with regards to static electricity and electrocution. Also be careful once youve removed it. On AMD chips the pins are on the CPU, not the socket, so its easy to damage it during storage.
