I have a Dell E5500 laptop with Windows XP. It wanted to watch a DVD on it and display it on my Panasonic Viera TV. The TV has a VGA input labelled 'PC' at the back. I plugged in a VGA cable but nothing happened. The TV screen remained unmoved. My laptop works well with a projector so the output is working. I then connected my daughter's LeNovo laptop (also Windows XP) to the TV and played the DVD successfully. Where does the fault lie with my laptop?

The laptop probably has a display manager, maybe connecting the vga and then working with the software may help you.
