I have a Dell Inspiron N5010 with Windows 7

I bought this laptop in December.

In order to ensure that my laptop is in tip top shape and is performing well, what steps or rules should I follow.

For software, try not to use Peer 2 Peer softwares and download files from unsecure websites. Have firewall turn on and your antivirus working. If all goes well, your laptop can survived for a long time:)
