Make sure to set a system restore point before fixing anything with hijack this.

Before you do anything you really should place the hijackthis.exe executable in its own directory like c:\hjt or certain features, like the backups, will not work properly.

Your log also shows that you are seriously behind on windows updates. It is essential that you update your windows before we continue to help you as the infections could reoccur. Go to http://www.windowsupdate.com and if it asks to install software, let it. Then click on the Scan link and let it do its thing. When its done you will see on your left a section called critical updates. Click on that section and install everything that you can. When it prompts you to reboot, do so. Then repeat this process again until there are no more critical updates listed.

If you would prefer not to update to service pack 2 right now, that is fine. But at least update to service pack 1a and all the other updates.

Then post a brand new hijackthis log.

Before deciding whether or not to upgrade to SP2, review this thread:
http://www.daniweb.com/techtalkforums/thread10031.html

You should try to make sure you don't have any viruses or spyware before upgrading to SP2.

After you move hjt to a permanent folder, you can also delete the red.clientapps. Rescan and post.

dlh6213,
I gotta add your bit into my Need update canned speech :)

Good idea, then I don't need to follow you around, lol.
