Need to make comp safe after trojan infestation (HJT log included)

My brother showed me pictures he took on his travels on India, unfortunately he managed to pick up a trojan or worm of some sorts on the hard drive and passed it on to this computer. Avira came up with alerts constantly, and after a scan I managed to delete most of what I thought was causing the problem.

Either through my actions or the trojan's userinit was deleted from the registry, making me unable to login after a reboot. I was able to fix this using BartPE. I am now back and I wish to rid my mother's computer of all pests.

tr/vb.bg is what Avira found. After some research it would appear to have something to do with the program Blank AntiViri, as it was using AUT0EXEC.BAT (notice the zero).

Help would be very much appreciated.

Hi kingston, welcome to daniweb.
Unfortunately looks like infection is still there, something is anyway.
First thing you need to do is TURN OFF that Spybot TeaTimer as it is known to interfere with some clean up procedures.
To do this go into the program and Choose Mode, Advanced.
When that opens go to Tools. When that opens click Resident. When that opens take the check mark OUT of TeaTimer.
Close the program.
Reboot the computer.
Next do the following:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBA-M) to your Desktop.

* DoubleClick mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install MBA-M.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When MBA-M finishes, Notepad will open with the log. Please save it where you can find it easily. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt.

Reboot the computer.

After that do this:
Please Run the ESET Online Scanner and attach the ScanLog with your post for assistance.

* You will need to use Internet Explorer to to complete this scan.
* You will need to temporarily Disable your current Anti-virus program.
* Be sure the option to Remove found threats is checked at this time and the option to Scan unwanted applications is Checked.
* When you have completed that scan, a scanlog ought to have been created and located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt. Please post that log for us as directed below.

When you have completed all of the above then reboot the computer again.
Run a NEW HJT scan and save the log.
Post back here with all three logs.

Thanks for the quick reply. Avira came up with alerts constantly, but the second scan appears to have fixed that.

Although Malwarebytes log says "no action taken", I did delete all of them and the program said everything went smooth. I guess it didn't work though.

Oh and sorry, it appears to be in Finnish, I translated the important parts (though you probably know them off by heart anyway).

cohen. As you can see, he has already explained that. Please read the posts through :).

Although Malwarebytes log says "no action taken", I did delete all of them and the program said everything went smooth.

I imagine you just posted the wrong log :).

Avira is still coming up with a message about the trojan being in C:/System Volume Information...

I imagine I should flush System Restore?

Give us one of the Avira's full messages. If you click on Events and then double click on one of those Warnings it will give you the full path and name of the item. It probably is in System Restore but let's make certain.

Reset your System Restore. The file that was found is in the System Restore so to remove this do the following:
Right Click My Computer. Choose Properties. When System Properties opens choose the System Restore Tab. When that opens put a check mark in Turn Off System Restore. You will probably get a warning that you are turning it off, click ok or yes, whatever the answer is meaning you know it is going to be turned off. It will then turn off. Wait a few moments and then do the reverse and take the check mark out. This will turn System Restore back on with a new and clean restore point.
