Hopefully you uninstalled it. not deleted it.

Try Avast anti-virus.

For FREE AV's you have a choice from (the above mentioned) Avira, Avast, or Comodo. Nod32 used to also have good free offering, but is no longer available as far as I can tell.

Microsoft's new beta release has also gotten surprisingly good reviews (unlike OneCare) if interested.

Point being, of all the free offerings, AVG is the absolute worst.

I"m getting Avast then

Hey Guys I Decided to go all the way and got norton Internet security it says there is nothing and heres a hijack report hopefully we can get it fixed now

I don't know what you mean by "go all the way and get Norton"?
Norton is absolute rubbish. If you have paid for it, you have wasted your money.

Have HJT fix the following entry by placing a tick in the box next to it.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

Then close all browsers and click on the "fix checked" button in HJT.

My advice would be to ditch Norton.

+1 on ditching Norton. Along with McAfee, it's nothing but a resource hog.

Yeah so why is it PC Worlds top and I'm not ditching it now I paid $80NZ

Download the HostsXpert.
Run it and press "Restore M$ Hosts File" and press "OK". Exit Program.
Note that if you have a custom host file, this will remove it.

====

Download Dial-a-Fix and run it. Select the 'Check all' (green arrow) and then hit 'GO.'
Reboot when done and see how things are now.

They have undoubtedly been paid to say it's good.

Absolutely everyone that has experience with malware removal will tell you that Norton is a complete waste of time and money. You may as well hang a lucky rabbits foot on the front of your pc for protection.

Yup - have to agree to the ASAP removal of Norton. Symantec make fantastic corporate AV's (had absolutely no complaints over EndPoint and Symantec Corporate AV before it), but home-based security apps run like a dog with three legs!

NB: YES Norton has a good hit-rate these-days, but the drain on your system resources make it a loser in my book. If you want a paid-for solution, and lack access to corporate editions, have a look at what G-Data have to offer.... are out-doing even Avast, and especially leaving Norton in its dust (just that some reviewers still not aware of its existence, which is not a great surprise as is a German offering). Personally not sure you need a paid-for version, but this is getting blitzing reviews over last 12mths.

"run like a dog with three legs!" On a bed of nails! ;)

I'll pay that one :D

Well screw you all you ****in **** no help at all geez!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

commented: You are asking for help and all these people are trying to help you for *free*. Learn to respect that. -2

There is no need for language like that at all.

I was only trying to offer you advice to keep your pc clean.

If you don't like the advice, tough!

If you had asked for advice before wasting your money on that Norton rubbish......

I asked the store i brought it from and they recommend Norton. STILL HOW DO I FIX MY PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

commented: Foul mouthed and abusive to those that are trying to help +0

Was advised on several free and paid-for AV products, but instead chose to rely on the advise of a sales-rep who's main priority was making a sale (ie, getting your money), when no-one here charges a cent for time spent trying to assist you.

Given the abuse to those who have tried to help you - often with little constructive feedback - personally think you can go jump!

I agree and will be offering no further help in this thread.

If the OP wants to act like a baby who has lost his rattle then I want no part of it.
