I have a popup that follows me around the web from site to site. I read a thread here that is 6 years old and would really like some help with this problem.
Crunchie helped the person who started that thread who was alsandy. Crunchie posted this : Looks like a L2M infection.

Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

I have tried downloading the first link and Norton 360 stopped it saying it was unsafe and the second link takes me to some celebrity page.
If there is anyone out there who has any idea as to how I can get rid of that annoying popup it would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Duke

I would download malwarebytes and scan your system.

I have tried using malwarebytes and it did not help

I'd trust Atribune before I'd trust Norton [to do the jobs they say they can]. The first link is safe, so is the file. http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
So if you are certain that that is your problem with the popups,go ahead and dl it, run it. A brief guide:
Save the file to your desktop, dclick l2mfix.exe, press Install button and follow on.
Close other programs because sys will reboot during fix.
Open the new l2mfix folder on your desktop. Dclick l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix [type 2, press enter], press any key to reboot your computer. L2mfix will scan your computer and finally notepad will open with a log.
Paste contents here if you wish for help.
